@VisiBone Yeah, he's been around for a long time, and I've always felt he's more of a film historian than a critic, because he really has a respectful approach and deep understanding of films (and not just the new ones). I always love hearing him describe films, because he does it so beautifully. He seems to really love and admire great film-making.
The movie has such a psychological depth particular at the ending.
When she is trying to manipulation Bogart there is a look in his
eyes that is so deep and troubling that you forget that you are watching a movie. You can see him for an instance debating whether he should keep her or send her to jail.
