@peterward85 Thanks for the advise peteward.. I know it would be easier, but the reason for most of my videos is that Im showing people that don't have these kind of tools how to do this kind of work, with just the minimum hand tools it would take. Pete
I'm very mechanically inclined, but have never done sheet metal before. Aside from taking my time, using common sense and making sure it's done right, what other advice do you have for me? Keep up the damn good work!
All i can say is take your time, don't get frustrated and just learn from your mistakes... Thats the best way to do things... If you fuck it up,, start over and do it again till its right.. Tackling a job like this is actually common sense and just having the right tools. Don't get discouraged and think you cant do it... Post some vids on it, let me know when you do, I would like to keep an eye on it once in awhile... take it easy >>>>>>PETE
Thanks for the advice. I will definitely post videos from the experience. I got the car from my father in law about a year ago. He had it for 38 years and passed it on to me and my son, so he's going to be stoked to see progress too. The only thing that sucks is that it's completely drivable now, so I'm going to be bummed as shit to not be able to drive it for a while. Oh well, it'll be better than before when I'm done. Thanks and take care.
Pete, you do an excellent job of cutting through the "this is how you do it" script and actually DO what it is you're talking about. I've watched alot of your videos so far and I've learned a good deal just by watching. I have a 1963 Impala SS that I will be taking out of commission in a couple of months to start restoration, and I will be tackling the sheet metal repairs on my own.
Pete, thanx for posting these informative videos that show the right way to make repairs, or.....restoration. I can't stand to watch the same ol' boring tech guys telling me how to do something. I like the character you bring with the pony tail, tattoos, and occasional f bomb. I started out looking to see how to fix my door skins and found myself watching everyone of your vids. Good work, keep it up.
Hey---Look at it this way,,,, Free lessons to people that really want to learn... Just trying to give a little enjoyment to people that want to DO IT YOURSELF... Screw all that HOKIE POKIE Bullshit... Thanks for the comment----Pete
