  • The sad thing is Jimmy doesnt realise how far ppl would drive to see him if he planned a few gigs here in europe

  • He is on of those Americans that goes his whole life thinking he lives in the greatest country in the world and when he travels its IN HIS FACE that he doesn't

  • @Ms80sRocked No. Jim doesn't think that. He just doesn't want to go to europe. Didn't you listen to this at all?

  • this is the only time that Jimmy has actually pissed me off.

"I just don't find them interesting" - Europe, SERIOUSLY?! PARIS? ROME? WTF???!?!!

  • @BlunderCats

But people who look down on Europeans aren't? Where's your logic there?

  • "Do you really think I determine our foreign policy you fuckin moron." Perfect response.

  • Europeans don't give a shit about Americans

  • @marcsman229 Lol yes they do, a little too much in fact

  • I am disappointed... I want Jimmy to come to Sweden so badly. People here watch american film and TV all the time, even those who dislike america for political reasons enjoy american entertainment. Steamboat Willy! Woot woot! Betty Boop, what a dish!

  • @Fistwagon hahahahahahahahahahaha

  • I think the United States and United Kingdom should combine into one country.

Not for any political reasons, or in the interest of improvement. Just that I want the four initials to be on a map for every other place to have to read.

  • @TropicalShirtTy the united states should stop its pipe dream of independence and come back into the warm bosom of colony status.

  • @123jataylor Sure, I think if there were any place the U.S. should merge with it should be that 51st state. Plus again, the initials.

  • From the stuff Bill Burr mentioned in this conversation, it seems like the real America haters in yurop are just the occasional 1 in 100 douchebag who should keep their dumb fawkin mouth shut, not exclusive to any specific part of the world, we got them in America, they have them in Europe, they're in Canada, Mexico, South America, whatever. The best thing to do with people like that is troll them into a frothing rage and then laugh. That's my approach. 8)

  • As a British listener...we're not all Anti-American dicks. America's made some pretty sweet shit, y'know, like the internet. Albeit we made the computer, but hey, that's what I call team work! But most anti-american sentiment in Britain seems to come from a political camp I don't belong to anyway so I don't even give a shit. The only thing I don't like about America is its current political landscape, but I don't Britain's either so fuck 'em all, imma gonna eat a Big Mac and read some Spiderman.

  • I'm sick of reading that americans all fat and stupid. Then I've read that my homeland should be wiped of the face of the earth via nuclear holocaust. And europeans think that they are still the sophisticated ones? Fuck off.

  • The fact that we're not on Youtube.uk or Youtube.de or Youtube-dot-anything-but-com listening to the Jorgensenhanson and Bergenshitz radio show, renders all of the arguments by European crybabies below me invalid.

Keep taking that greasy American load up your shitters my little European swine.

In the words of Mark Twain: "How's your Big Mac?"

  • @dietrite123 so are you saying american culture isnt now, and always has been greatly influenced by culture from europe?

  • @HeLovesCulture I didn't like visiting Poland.. i LOVED IT! :D

  • i fucking hate people who look down on americans. they are the worst.

  • You can tell Jimmy just reads a lot of youtube comments and assumes everybody hates America. People are people no matter where you go.

  • We don't hate Americans, we make jokes about them.

  • @IncredibleGoliath lol if it weren't for us you would be speaking german or Russian right now lol

  • Wow. Some of you are breath-takingly naive.

A guy from Jersey is xenophobic? Well knock me over with a feather!\

He owes you people nothing. There is a simple exchange at play here. You pay to see his shows, or you pay to listen to his radio show. You are then given the opportunity to laugh your ass off. End of transaction. No guarantees, no refunds, subject to local laws and regulations, etc. etc.

He owes you nothing, not his friendship, not his respect, NOTHING. Welcome to the real world.

  • eastern europe. fuck that place, im never going there ever. it's like africa for white people. i dont want to end up tied to a chair while i dictate my own ransom note to some gyspy coz he cant speak english and then 2 weeks later my parents get the note and my thumbs in the mail. fuck that. western europe, awesome. not going anywhere near russia or the balkans.

  • Jimmy just wants to go to Australia for the free prostitution

  • "fish and chip stomachs" LOL. I was literally on the floor laughing when he said that

  • i love O&A but this is balls. sounds like a gaggle of geese.

  • I love the way Jim talks about Europe like its one country with it's own culture. Absolute ignoramous. He's just afraid his act wont translate well across the pond, which aint true

  • @zoso7889 You can't deny that there's a great deal of anti-American sentiment all throughout Europe, particularly the UK and France. It's bizarre, and more than a bit hypocritical, but you can even see it all over YouTube, where Europeans, Britons in particular, are always spouting off about 'you Americans are...' blah blah. Norton may be blaming everyone for a few bad eggs, but that's precisely what the haters in Europe do.

  • @HeLovesCulture

When Americans encounter Parisian rudeness it's not necessarily a sign of French Anti-Americanism, is sort of what i meant. Nothing truly bothers me about them. Thinking Charles de Gaulle won World War II and their unwatchable tv maybe

I have never met friendlier people than in the Interior West

  • I've been to Croatia, and honestly didn't experience any real culture shock. They got the same crappy reality tv as we do, the same guys who never pay attention to politics. I was probably more intrigued about the country's history and culture more then 80% of the people I meant. You talk to some of these guys, they don't give a fuck if you tear down an 800-year-old building to make a parking lot. "Who cares, it's old" I heard one guy tell me as he was watching soccer and drinking booze.

  • Americans hate europe.

  • Now I remember why I stopped listening to this show.

  • @HeLovesCulture Don't blame you, i effing loved visiting Spain and France! Don't overlook Poland by the way, the exchange rate means you spend about a fifth what you would in the UK or America on food, drink, travel, hotel... you can live like a king, the women are beautiful, and the people are so friendly!

  • Whoa. A country, I could understand, but writing off a whole continent? Dude. Except Antarctica, fuck Antarctica...

  • @JimbleBass

Europe has just a little over same square mileage as the continental United States. The U.S. is probably more culturally diverse as well.

Am I correct in assuming you wouldn't flinch over a European stereotyping Americans as behaving like the stereotypical Texan (because I bet you're a pretty big Top Gear fan)?

  • @Idoloish as someone whos been to both the us and countries in europe id say europe is FAR more culturally diverse.

how have you come to the insane conclusion that the u.s. is more culturally diverse?

  • @123jataylor

Having a bunch of Muslim immigrants and white people, who perform dances and play sports where you can't use your hands, does not make you culturally diverse.

  • @Idoloish and african immigrants, and asian immigrants. and diversity in europe, unlike america is not founded upon immigrant communities, because the white people you are talking about were here before anyone else and developed widely distinct cultures over 1000s of years, just look at the diversity of accents in england alone.

the only sport youre talking about is football, the rest use hand also that doesnt take into account national sports like hurling.

    europe is more culturally diversefact

  • @123jataylor

American demographics: about 17% are blacks, 16% are Hispanics and 4% are Asian. European demographics: the total of all non-whites is merely 3%. Americans also deal with immigrants more than Europeans. European schools teach about America and Canada, over Europe, when it comes to pointing out places that are good at integrating populations. Just the fact America has more variety of pizza than Italy renders your argument completely invalid.

  • @Idoloish like i said your'e basing cultural diversity upon immigrant communities, rather than the original cultures that they came from. its like youre saying watered down beer is stronger than the original undiluted version. like saying the 'irish' 'pubs' you have over there.

hahaha jesus u bellend no it doesnt! i dont know if thats true, there are lots of different TYPES of pizza in italy, not just topping, look it up on wiki.

    no one agrees with you.

  • @Idoloish

you can give a vague description of americaness, you can't do the same with europeaness.

the very european-american immigrant communities you're talking about are attempting to replicate the cultural diversity that was present in europe

compare cultural differences between irish/italian americans and irish/italian people

i dont know how you are finding this difficult to understand, but: 'pizza....renders your argument completely invalid' gave me a good laugh, thanks for that.

  • @123jataylor

"you can give a vague description of americaness, you can't do the same with europeaness." - You

Numerical values are not "vague". Since you cited Wiki as a valid, look it up

"the very european-american immigrant communities you're talking about are attempting to replicate the cultural diversity that was present in europe"

Translated: "America has the same cultures as Europe, plus other cultures".

Thanks for agreeing with me. Now stop with the inferiority complex.

  • @Idoloish what? how is a notion of americanness a numerical value?

no, my point entitely was that american doesnt have those same cultures, it has watered down, attempts at immitation of those cultures, encompassed within a fairly monolithic american culture.

as i said, "the very european-american immigrant communities you're talking about >>are attempting to replicate the cultural diversity that was present in europe<<"

    please try harder.

  • @Idoloish Despite not having visited the US, it being a single country, it doesn't have the cultural diversity of the continent of Europe. You talk about land area, in a country with huge expanses of desert. Europe has over twice the population, which matters more than area size in cultural diversity.

  • @Idoloish

And you're wrong, i try to avoid stereotypes, and i'm not a big top gear fan. In fact Clarkson said, sickening me, that the workers on strike in my country should be killed in front of their families.. i'm not a supporter of talking heads like that AT ALL. Why did you think that?

  • @JimbleBass

Sorry about that Clarkson thing then. As for America being more culturally diverse than Europe, see my previous comment to another youtuber. Also, if you want a more exact number, Europe has roughly three times the population of America, not just twice as much. This means America is not only more culturally diverse, but also more diverse per capita.

  • Is there something up with the contrast in the video's photo, or is it just me?

  • Three

  • He's got a point. What is there really to see in France anyway? The fucking Mona Lisa and a big tower?

  • The picture changing was fucking cool

  • You have the same Michael Moore fans in America. They don't represent any majority view

The french are dicks in general

  • It is easy to get disillusioned with Europe if you look at how biased the media is over there. They shit on America for ratings all the time and it works. Nevertheless, jimmy would enjoy it if he went. Average people are the same everywhere you go and I think Jimmy knows that. Aside from that religious fundamentalist countries blow; they are just a buzzkill to be in.

  • Jimmy probably wrong but I have to say, Every European guy in my college is a douche. They dress look like its 1992 and their in new kids on the block and they look down on everyone, However this goes for alot of the South American guys too. I kinda get hating america since were known for being fat and stupid but, Their going to school here!

  • Sounds like Jimmy read something that set him off. I'm not convinced he was particularly invested in the point he was trying to make.

I think what he wanted to say was that he wouldn't do well enough in Europe to warrant the effort of traveling there. But I guess he was mad at Europe for some reason, so he was overly aggressive about it.

It's not like Jim to make a point as obliviously hypocritical as the one he did in this clip.

  • im european (portugal) writing from Lisbon and this idea of Jimmy...what the...i can even...I just dont understand 'where' that come from Jimmy.

1st ever I heard about that.Even in internetz.

  • The butthurt comments from euros really made this video better

  • Sounds like he's a little intimidated, he shouldn't be. The U.S isn't that different from Europe, it's basically another Europe in itself just with unfortunately, far more black people. We've all grown from the same branch (Greeks - Romans - Christianity) and pretty much have the same core values.

  • Nah, Jimmy just ranted himself into a corner and is he's too proud to come out. I do that all the time myself.

  • Wow, he bashes comics that go to other countries and bash America, but I'm pretty sure he'd have no problem getting a laugh or an applause break in the states bashing all of Europe and the Middle East. What a hypocritical douche.

  • C'mon Jimmy.

  • what jimmy doesnt know....that those are europeans are men......european girls like american dude

  • I'm english and i love o and a, but i love jimmy the best! He should definitely come over and do some gigs in Hammersmith or sumpthin. He needs to visit London chip!

  • @ralphinio4 Tcha, yeah, maybe he should Hammer-a-Morrissey too or sum'in', yer know?

  • Im from 'Europe' (as Americans like to bunch us in as like were a single country) and i love lil yimmy on the radio, but he's being an ignorant dickhead and obviously has some insecurities regarding wether he'd do well outside of his same 5-6 club rosta he normally does.

  • ever have someone give you shit about something dumb, and you just continually refuse and be stubborn just because fuck them

  • I'd rather him go off and insult Europe or what not rather than get defensive about why he doesn't want to go, like he did with Canada because of that one caller. Not that I got anything against the limeys, just that it'd have been more entertaining radio than hearing how he doesn't feel like going there.

But, Jimmy still rules regardless of him sharing his opinion of some country.

  • I'm from Portugal and I get Jimmy, even though stereotypes are never good (blah blah). I get what he says, I also have no desire to visit countries like Japan or Thailand... I don't really care about travelling

  • I want to Europe and enjoyed it. I suspect a few folks were cursing me under their breath, but other than that it was nice.

  • It's a scientific fact that Europeans are 15 years behind the times. Christ, you guys still think fanny packs are cool. No wonder Jimmy hates you.

  • @opantfan1 You know what Bill Burr was saying about the Americans that go to Europe and want everyone to speak English and act ignorant? Youre that person, just like if theres a European on these comments that starts spouting 'Americans are all dumb and fat' etc, chill the fuck out

  • @ccfcobro See what I mean? No sense of humor. One comment about fanny packs and you've got your knickers in a twist

  • @opantfan1 I was being sarcastic, not your fault tho, it doesnt work very well online.

  • Jimmys simplistic ignorant boring shitty predictable stand up would not fly here FACT

  • wow jimmy is so ignorant.sad

  • Norton is a terrible stand up comedian. Funny as hell on the radio, but a truly not good stand up act. He would tank in Europe.

  • Oh please. I'll bet plenty of you shitbirds laugh and laugh along as Jimmy regularly makes fun of southerners and "west coast faggots" and literally wishes death on every inhabitant of those parts of the country, but when he directs the artillery fire your way you fucking boo hoo about it.

    Pompous European shit heads.

  • Comment removed

  • Europe is not sophisticated enough for his shit jokes, yet America, where Dane Cook is a number one comic, is. Give me a fucking brake.

  • @dr1345 tss are you having trouble stopping your car or sumpthin'? tss tss

  • @BNicodemo Oh Chip!

  • @dr1345 not everyone thinks dane cook is funny in america. dane cook hasn't even been heard of for years now

  • @dagodfatharico I didn't say EVERYBODY, but according to Forbes he is highest grossing comedian in the US. Dane Cook work huge arenas while real talented comedians like Stanhope work in small shitty clubs. That tells you something about tastes of general American public.

  • Burr nailed it. Norton is so insecure.

  • @HeLovesCulture I agree with Bill too. It's really Jimmy's ignorance and closed mind that irritated me enough to make that comment. It didn't come from any hatred of Americans.

  • "I don't find them sophisticated"... Coming from a guy who enjoys having people drop logs on his chest and sodomize trannies...

  • doesnt jimmy understand the irony in saying 'i hate europeans because they all hate americans'?

and speaking from the uk, the stupid people here hate everyone who isnt from their city, their country etc. im guessing its the same in america.

  • @123jataylor It's not true. The U.K hates alot of countries and always boasts that its better in every way. America hates the U.K because they never want to see eye to eye. And they are the biggest haters on youtube.

  • thats sad, i live in europe and I think Jimmy is proper funny, he could probably sell out a theatre tour in the UK without much promotion already, if he came over and did some tv and radio he would be laughing straight to the bank!!!

  • Jimmy is good on that show, but truth is in reality he's a shitty second rate comedian because most of his material is based around his fixation on sexual perversions. No one in Europe is gonna like him anyway. Doug Stanhope on the other hand is brilliant and well liked there. Although he shits on Europeans all the time, they still love him for the intelligent content of his routine. Louis CK would do great in Europe too.

  • @dr1345 I love love love Jimmy on the show...but I agree with you, his stand-up sucks...badly. If he could somehow change his act to be like he is on the show, he'd be one of the greatest comedians ever. But, like you said his stand-up is shitty second rate, set-ups and punchlines, nothing special, which is such a shame because he can be soooooo brilliant. Also, his view on European/ American relationships is childish. Sad that he actually thinks this way.

  • @dr1345 @KidMoon23 I agree. The speed and wit of his comedy on the show is some of the best I've ever heard, but he can't seem to capture that on stage. Also, I think it's ludicrous the way he gets defensive over criticisms of American foreign policy. If , say, Noam Chomsky makes some criticism of the UK's foreign policy (which he has many times) I don't take it personally - I just listen and try to understand.

  • @Oh4Chr His problems with stand up comedy are mainly fixation only on sex, lackluster delivery and non existent acting abilities. He said Europe is not sophisticated enough for him like he is as complex and brilliant as George Carlin. On the stage he's just a little simpleton pervert. Get over yourself, Jimmy. Europeans love smart and deep Americans like Stanhope, and that's why he is insecure. It's not that he doesn't wanna go there, he is afraid to go because he knows he's not good enough.

  • @dr1345 Yeah, Stanhope is excellent. Like the great Bill Hicks, he's a comedian who not only doesn't pander to the audience, he literally doesn't give a shit what they think. That's always appealing.

  • we think we're more important than we are.do people really think a guy in the netherlands really gives a shit about america in his day to day life?we did the same shit to france."how dare they not want to go to war with us,we'll be shitty to them and rename french fries freedom fries like a bunch of faggots".

  • He is wrong around 1:30. America supported the EU from the very beginning, it's a great system to keep the peace and help the economy of Europe. Unfortunately you have idiots running it now.

  • If the whole world fucking hates America, then maybe there's a good reason. Just a thought.

  • @ezzthemc America, FUCK YEAH

  • jimmy, i want to see you here :(

  • HE IS JOKING PEOPLE CALM THE FUCK DOWN

  • Comment removed

  • @Adams9 if you mean Jimmy is joking, he isn't

  • is jimmy Polish or Irish? what is his nationality?

  • Maybe the anti- US thing stems from ignorance...

  • Norton is right, he's smarter (and a a better comic) than Burr and knows more about the world. In England they'll praise a left-wing comic like David Cross simply for bashing America, not because they have any respect for his comedy but only because he's anti-US. When Janeane Garofolo was at the Edinburgh Fringe festival and was mocking Scots for being knife-wielding hooligans who ate only fried twinkies the audiences hated her, when she went back to being anti-American they applauded.

  • Why does Jimmy want to go to Australia and New Zealand, but not the UK, Germany, or Spain? Just because they are presented as ignorant? If anything us americans are some of the most ignorant people throughout the world.

  • That's a beautiful picture. Where is that?

  • Jimmy just knows you guys have uglier trannies over there, and he's too fancy of a man for that nonsense.

  • Jimmy rules.

People just aren't used to a comedian that 1.) expresses his dislike for Brits and Continentals, and 2.) doesn't pander to foreign listeners(or even just "hip" Americans) that like to hear yet another American comedian that shits all over America for cheap cheers.

  • @BNicodemo Dislike for Brits ? He only seems to meet them on O&A and always seems very interested in them. That's the puzzler. When did you last hear an O&A show when he didn't mention Ozzy or Sabbath. Malcolm Mcdowell, Ricky Gervais etc gave great radio and seemed fairly popular.Don't understand the problem.US comedy has always been popular in the UK. Strange to hear any comedian condemning an entire nation, especially the one which has largely been labeled the comedy capital of the world. ???

  • @PoniesThatBite Perhaps dislike was a poor choice of words. Choose a milder synonym.

The thing with Jimmy is that he seems to [insert milder synonym] groups of people, but he actually likes individuals. So he'll say that "Europeans are pompous douches and they should fucking die" but if you ask him about individual people or places he'll tell you that he finds them quite pleasant.

Much like European/British folks: "Americans are fat and ignorant, except Louis C.K.! and George Carlin!"

    etc.

  • @BNicodemo It just seems that he's shooting himself in the foot regarding revenue, which seems a tad short-sighted.You're more likely to buy a comedians dvds if they don't slag the country you live in quite savagely without ever setting foot there. Observational comedy ? The US comedians that take the piss out of the US do so usually because they 'know' it. Doug Stanhope, Brendon Burns, Bill Hicks, Jim Jefferies all mock the English but Know who they're talking about so it's funny.

  • @PoniesThatBite 1.) Jimmy has little concern for "revenue" at this point in his life, and you don't have to be his agent to know that.

2.) COUNTLESS British and European comics comics devote substantial portions of their routines to shitting all over Americans for easy laughs. Some of them are funny. Some of them I have payed money to hear. Lighten up, Francis.

3.) Brits and Europeans are not a protected class. Take your licks like the rest of us or get fucked. It's that simple.

  • Why did this boring who gives a shit radio segment have to be uploaded.

  • I think Patrice's experience over in the UK might have turned Jimmy off the whole European touring thing, as well as any feelings he might have had before that. I say that cause Patrice talked about how stuck up the British comedians can be, especially when they talk about irony. They do seem to be hung up on irony though.. any time there's a vid of an american comedian performing in the uk you see a bunch of comments from uk guys saying we just don't get irony maaaaan. I'm rambling.

  • @tedatlas The people who say that are just parroting something they heard. Americans don't know what irony is but neither to Brits for the most part. The strict definition of irony is "when the intended meaning is different to the literal meaning". most people such as Patrice call this sarcasm, but sarcasm it just the way you say it. you can be ironic without being sarcastic and visa versa. Then there's situational irony: see alanis morisets ironic being ripped into: /watch?v=nT1TVSTkAXg

  • Bill Burr being funny, Jimmy just being serious.

  • Little Jimmy is loved throughout the world...deal with it.

  • Shut up and let Jimmy rant, Jesus Christ

  • Bill Burr is funny imho, but comedy is like that. Jim Norton would do MUCH better in the UK than he does in the US as Bill Hicks, Doug Stanhope, Rich Hall, Brendon Burns and Jim Jefferies amongst many others have.I think he's burning his bridges tbh... I love his stand up, it's a shame he seems dead set on judging an entire nation without any basis. Jesus if you made a drinking game from O&A where everytime he mentions Ozzy you take a drink, you'd be bolloxed everytime you listened to the show!

  • Jimmy would kill in most of Europe. Australia, and the UK especially, they appreciate good comedy there.

  • We'd love Jimmy here in England!

  • God I love Billy Burr ! Funniest fuck ever !

  • @vladlovesceltic bill burr isn't funny at all -.- i havn't laughed at anything hes ever said

  • @Dachosen17 it's ok. I guess the world needs Dane Cook fans too

  • @Dachosen17 I literally feel sorry for you.

  • @WhatDeFrock why? he has a annoying laugh "eheheheheh" and maybe im exaggerating that i never laugh but eh

  • Jimmy isn't a good enough comedian to work in Europe anyway.

  • @stokes777 I'm English, a huge fan of stand-up and the O&A show.Jim Norton is probably the funniest improv guy on the planet IMHO. Shame he's so blinkered towards us.The whole 'English fags' thing does however bother me coming from a guy who fucks trannies. If only he could read the odd history book and learn to act. His stand-up seems forced, like he's trying too hard to win the crowd. He's brilliant on O&A though...

and the last time I looked The US and the UK were still allies.... ???

  • Comment removed

  • I would love it if Jimmy and O&A came to Australia.

  • @Atheieye

Never gonna happen, they're deathly afraid of kangaroos.

  • @Roughneck8 Kangaroos don't randomly jump around in the cities u know lol

  • @Atheieye

You can't fool me with those lies from down under, mate!
