  • This is from OUR 1996 A&E Biography of Jerry Lewis. Title is

"Jerry Lewis... The Last American Clown"

    On our channel!

  • Love the music on here!

  • Will the real Jerry Lewis please stand up!

  • this guy is sick. everything he does on screen and off screen is orchestrated to make us think he's a wonderful human being, whether it's him being irresisitable to women or loved by children, etc.

  • I read somewhere that there was a scene where Jerry Lewis gets brutally anally & orally raped numerous times by other prisoners and the whole time it's happening, he sings Dean Martin songs. In the truest sense of art, he demanded that the rapes be real and not use any Hollywood special effects. Lewis was never quite pleased with the final product even after filming the same scene many, many, many times.

I also read somewhere that Martin liked that scene so much he was buried with a VHS copy.

  • @streetracer14785 Oy Vey

  • Though I trust what he says and I like him, not sure if Harry Shearer is a great critict when it comes to art. Did you ever read what a pain in the ass he was on the SNL set?

  • I've heard about this movie for many years. It's taken on a real urban legend type status. As a big Jerry Lewis fan,I would love to see it myself. I think it was very daring of Jerry to make such a risky and controversial film.

  • Harry Shearer wasn't kidding when he said this movie has WRONG written all over it.

  • The movie sounds hilarious. I don't know what people's problem is.

  • @CertifiedGooner729 cause watching a movie about a drunk clown leading jewish children into gas chambers to die is SO funny*...although I do want to see how terrible this movie out of curiosity

    *sarcasm

  • @Gamer4672 What can I say, bro? I got a dark sensahumah.

  • I may be in the minority...but considering the LEGEND and MYSTERY regarding this film (along with the grim subject matter)...I think the scary music is quite fitting!

  • It's on Torrent but not enough seeds to get it. He need to be release to check the legend.

  • they should remake it in it's orignal intened format and release it it would be relly good

  • Wonderful description of this unlucky movie. I hope that they'll permit us to watch it. I love Jerry Lewis, i love his genius, i love everything he's done in his carrer.

Thank for uploading this extract, from the deeo of my heart.

I apologize for my bad english and i wish you a nice day.

    Freespirit, aka...... Aissa

  • You would think they were filming a snuff film with this music.

  • Where i can find this movie? please somebody tell me

  • @NiiqotiinaFamouz Ask Jerry.

  • @NiiqotiinaFamouz Jerry Lewis keeps the only known existing VHS locked up in a vault in his office.

  • @NiiqotiinaFamouz this movie did'nt was released until Now ! Is a Mistery where is now the copy pellicular of the movie ... we know that are only a vhs copy closed in the Jerry Lewis office in Hollywood Studious .

  • point taken, my friend

  • Jerry Lewis is a Russian Jew. If there was a Cold War between the US and Russia and the US won, how come there are so many Russians (jews) in the US? Who really won the cold war?

  • really wish i could see this movie. maybe someday they will release it.

  • THANKS for sharing this intriguing footage. I realize that this infamous movie has been in "legal limbo" all these years but I'm going to continue to "hope against hope" that some court somewhere can decide who has the rights to it & that it will eventually be released. I won't hold my breath though. Yet, anything is possible. Who knows? Well, the Shadow may know, but I lost Lamont Cranston's phone number. Maybe I can get it from the lovely Margo Lane... hmmm....

  • The Swedes have the film negative and Jerry has the only VHS copy of this movie...we'll probably never see it.

  • I want to see this film. Jerry is a living legend and is one of my favorites. Where can I get it?

  • You can't, BlackCountryPuddler. . . you can't.

  • @GrigoriSom lol

  • awesome, I`d love to watch this movie

  • i really want to watch this movie. i hope one day they might make a re-make . and release it.

  • I wonder if this film encouraged Robin Williams to make "Jakob the Liar."

  • I thought the same exact thing when I first say JtL.

  • I doubt we'll ever see it.

  • jerry told me that he didn't release the film because JFK asked him not to after Marilyn died

  • I assume you're joking otherwise that statement makes no sense.

  • Huh!? JFK was shot in November 1963 and Marilyn died in 1962. This is a 1971 film. !?!?!?!?!?!

  • @marekerhardt

I was having a post-modern, deconstructive conversation with Jerry, Jack and Marilyn. By the way, they say hello and complement you on your grasp of pop history. peace.

  • Yes well, even Bobby Kennedy could not have objected. He was shot in 1968. Fact is this film is a TERRIBLE idea and was in reqality never practiced i.e. entertain the children destined to die.Why bother with the expense? PEACE!!!!

  • Since La vita è bella has been considered a masterpiece I hope he will rethink it's decision. Perhaps The Clown is garbage but if only avoids the shameless consolatory mood of the Benigni's movie it's a worth watching movie, not to say the garbage of an authentic genius, one of the great comics of our time, is much more interesting than 99 % of Hollywood cinema of today. So, if you can do that please turn to him this plea from a big italian admirer which really envy you for this screening!

  • I could not stand Life is Beautiful. It was saccharine shit. Terrible movie.

  • I agree, more or less... Make a consolatory movie about such a theme is a bad action, not to say the absolute slovenliness of Benigni's direction (he was a great comic, though, but years ago, before to became a director and a would-be Nobel prize). That's a reason more I can't understand (and accept) a Jerry Lewis movie about the same theme should remain unreleased in the DVD era.

  • could someone please tell me the title of the song in this video?

  • A website hosting this clip says it's from Tarkovsky's "Solaris" which sounds right, it seems familiar. I don't remember the composer, the score of Solaris is both classical pieces and original music, this would be from the original music. Great film if you haven't seen it, kind of a slow Russian "2001".

  • Yeah, Im the one that created the clip and the site (Subterranean Cinema), and the music is from Tarkovsky's "Solaris". I thought it was eerie enough to fit the images very well.

  • Anyone could tell me the ending

  • Back in 1982, me and lewis bumped into eachother at the barber. We had been the best of friends in highschool so we went our for a drink. Went back to his place. You wanna know more about the movie we have a more private conversation. Message me. I might send back.

  • your 27 years old you fucking dumbass stfu

  • Can you post it VariedInterest? The ending of the film? Or why in your opinion is it garbage

  • I like how this behind the scenes clip is all ominous. I'm sure in the future it'll be released, or SOMEHOW be leaked. Very interesting.

  • I have a theory as to why the film wasn't released - maybe not the only reason but certainly this was a factor: Jerry didn't want to do a movie about kids getting gassed to death. I'm not surprised he didn't release it. It's pretty touchy subject matter.

  • The Boy in the Stripped Pajamas had a scene in which kids are gassed to death. Why would this be any different?

  • Yes but I'm talking about Jerry Lewis.

  • ART!!!

  • i wanted to see a clown.

  • Why the scary music? The scariest thing about the clip are the Euro early

    70's clothes and hair styles.

  • true, i doubt itll be released on dvd/vhs

anyway, how can they have released it to dvd/vhs if the movie was never completed?

  • i wish they'd release this film on dvd... but i'm almost sure they never will. jerry lewis won't even talk about it. i've heard that reporters & interviewers are warned to NEVER even bring up this film when talking to him.

i've read the entire script (it's available online, anyone can read it) & it's really, really good. such a shame that it will never be released.

  • I heard the White House has an exclusive copy of it, for it's private screening room.

  • yeah: it's funny how many people now claim to know so much about this movie, and even claim to have seen it, who are just talking out their asses. I do believe Harry Shearer - he saw a rough cut of it he talks about in a famous article in Spy magazine. One can (or used to) be able to see a draft of a script for the movie online. The concept is really not so weird, anymore, anyhow, and I'm hoping that Jerry will just eventually let us see a version that he's put together. Jerry: WE LOVE YOU!

  • Jerry had the only copy of his final cut in his own vault for decades, and decided a few months ago that he was going to die soon, so he burned it in order for it not to be released after his death. I am a friend of the family, and one weekend I was asked to come over with his nephew to housesit while he was away on a charity tour gig (he makes all his money doing them), and we screened it in his home theater. It is not a lost masterpiece, it's garbage, and I don't blame him for burning it.

  • i know lol look at all these comments peope are like "jerrys my next door neighbor and he showed it to me" omg those people need to just stfu

  • ill make this short and simple.

you guys have it all wrong. do your research before you make your comments.

jerry was never on drugs. the reason why the movie was never released or finished was because they struggled financially and they also struggled with the equipment [the equipment was either lost or arrived late at the location]. and there was also some problems with the production team

  • I saw it in Wikipedia. This movie is never release. I read the plot, and the ending is Very Good. "After all the children go into the chamber, he is so filled with remorse that he goes into the room himself to entertain them. As the children laugh at his antics, every one of them dies quietly of the effects of Zyklon B."

  • WOW was the movie that BAD?

  • how do you know so much for an unfinished, unreleased movie?

  • ok......but whats with the creepy music???

  • because its a creepy movie dealing with a tough subject

  • @morrisseyfan64

    Atmoshere!

  • @morrisseyfan64 Given the content of the movie, the music has to be creepy. It is about a clown who entertains children in a death camp before leading them to the gas chambers. Macabre, to say the least!

  • Legend has it that this flick was awful because Lewis was so hopped up on drugs at the time.

  • yeah, painkiller addiction because he hurt his back quite badly.

  • whats with the music????

  • RELASE THE MOVIE ALREADY

  • it'll neevr be released at this rate.

recently lewis was giving and did a q&a and somebody shouted will this movie be released and he shouted "None of your damn business", lol
