  • IIT A SHAME

  • This car has been rescued :)

  • oke that is good !!! he most go drive again !! iits a beautifull car ...so are all that old cars ..

  • Square Birds are one of my favorites ever. First car on my Lottery list!

  • tis one can be saved,. nice ride,..

  • beautiful car , love the baby blue and white interior

  • I bought this beauty! Its in good shape and complete with minimal rust in the right front fender. Pouring oil and gas just to start it is a bad idea as damage to the rare engine(J)could result.(350 hp 430 CID) The trim thats on the top is not factory but from an after market supplier JC Whittney. I found an ad in their catalog from 1970. I must admit with the right colors its tasteful! Besides the rare engine, it has an unusual paint code MX. So far, I have not found a listing in any books yet!

  • Great!!! Send me a video sometime of any restoration. Are you in the high desert of CA?

    VM

  • No I live in SW Colorado. I am planning on starting this fall but I am in the process of disassembling the engine now. All the casting numbers and casting date codes match. I am documenting everything and will post it here as well as Vintage Thunderbird Club Int. which I am a member. You dont see very often a car transformed so I thought that this will be an interesting project! I have found paperwork in the car dating to the mid 60's from N Cal and will take her on her first trip there!

  • you want the real batmobile look, then go get a lincoln Futura!

  • Amazing Nice Car!!!!

    Real LowRider !

  • if i where you i wold put new oil and gas and start her up make a video of her starting for the first time because i want to see

  • The car is not mine. If you want the owners # let me know.

  • That is correct, the Landau was 1st available in 1961 not 1960. If the car does have a 430cid engine it is rare though. Only some 4,000 out of 92,000 that year had this optional Lincoln engine.

  • According to the owner it is some type of original rare option. The strip accross the roof appears factory to me, but I am for the most part a mopar man and am not familiar with obscure Ford options. VM

  • Interesting that there are landau bars on this car- someone must have taken these off of another year t-bird in order to achieve this look - as Ford did not produce squarebirds with a landau roof
