Hey Bro! Nice sound. i'm trying to find this timbre. What Pedal and what effect do you use to do that? do u also use a volume control to create a non attack?
@tubescreamer what are the main pedals you use for this, i know youve listed all the pedals on your pedal board but id like to know what is essential for this sound, its really hard to find pedals which make these sounds
Just love your stuff. May have to buy another album :) Having listened to loads of ambient/shoegaze stuff on the net yours is by far the best IMO! Keep it up!
@jakatak I swell pretty well using a heavy cavernous reverb (On my pod x3 live) combined with a stereo delay set with heavy feedback and about a 41% mix.
@tubescreamer Really incredible sounding work. Thank you for posting. Stupid question for you.... how do you get rid of the attacks of the notes? I am a traditional guitarist and play experimental electronic. Trying to combine them together, but don't know how to get rid of the percussive nature of the guitar.... suggestions?
@DeptofImp Volume Swells, either via a volume pedal or rolling the volume knob on the guitar, combined with Delay and some Reverb and it sounds awesome
do you recommend the micro pog? i was looking at the pog 2, but all i really want to do is make these ambient noises so i guess this might be the cheaper way out, and be space efficient for my board.
Those were som sweet swells dude.. Are you running 2 delays or something like that??.. I've been tryin to experiment more with whats on the floor lately.. That sounded beautifully even, almost like a church choir singing..
are you using just the the dl4 delay and a volume pedal?.... i dont understand why you would be using the dd-5 as well. Im really curious if i can get an affect similar to this with just the dl4 and a volume pedal. Can you let me know. Thanks
hey tubescreamer, what are the settings on your line 6 dl4,dd5 and rv5 im assuminsg you micro pog was an octave up, no sub setting. Anyway i want to know the setting cause its sound like the boxer rebellion song "if you run", which is in the new movie Going The Distance with drew barrymore and justin long. SWeet sweet sounds man!!!!!!!
Hey tubescreamer, have you seen the movie inception? didn't you hear this ambient chord progression being played in the movie? Ill leave you the link its just like this song you did here only with a full orchestra in the background, i thought you would enjoy the fact you wrote something identical to such a big composer! Im not saying you copying it or anything because the date indicates that you put this up way before! Great music keep it coming
@tubescreamer romero/tubescreamer.. the composer your referring to is Hans Zimmer! One of my greatest influences. I especially love his album soundtrack for inception. I just got it last summer. I encourage you to get a copy as well :D. Great playing by the way! Was just wondering, what effects did you use to produce that sound? Im guessing hall reverb or delay with a tremolo and chorus?
Friend, you're wrong. Inception theme goes: G minor, F#/A#(in bass), Eb, Bmaj7. It's pretty different from the progression here which is a nice one, and tastefully played anyway.
@tubescreamer Sorry to keep bothering you with stupid questions. I actually added the micro POG and Boss RV-5 to my board partially because I saw your vids so thanks.
Unbelievably cool. Sounds like "Hammock." What exact config are you using with those pedals? And what settings on each? Would love to try to recreate this on my own setup...
hi its really quite easy not to insult this guy his video sounds awseome, what you do is put your delay on short and reverb on quite a long time, then you play a chord and you turn the volume nob on your guitar or use a pedal and go from no sound to a sound then turn it back down the delay and the rerb mean the sound keeps going but it fades out then you play another chord and turn it up and repeat the smae process witch creates these swells of sound that increase a disapate.

While a keyboardist will always pull off this type of sound better, it's great that near-identical sounds can be achieved on the guitar.
Perfect for live play, where the keyboardist can only do so much on his own.
