There is a clear difference. Death from lung cancer or other smoking related diseases and maladies are over the course of a lifetime. I still think that if you don't care about your body enough to stop smoking, yeah, that's kind of shitty too. But the kicker with Paul was his family. He left his wife a widow, his child fatherless and even left his band without it's final member.

As for saying that bassists are not needed in a band, I have to disagree with you friend! I play drums, and I find that having a bassist allows for better sounding music. It adds that layer that nothing else can.

As for what I've accomplished, if that needs to be listed for my opinion to be valid, then you should be the first to do so. Paul's accomplishments, on the other hand, were all completely and utterly undone by his failures. He started a family, then destroyed it with his drug abuse.

The fact that the operator is more concerned with the fact that he cant actually be arsed with finding out the specifics whether hes still alive or not is disheartening, you would of thought he'd ask that first off and as for the hotel staff laughing that he wont touch him? As for saying that bassists are not needed in a band, I have to disagree with you friend! I play drums, and I find that having a bassist allows for better sounding music. It adds that layer that nothing else can.

It's not a case of if a bassist makes music sound better (which, if the other musicians are good enough, they can compensate for it), it's that they aren't necessary at all.

And yes. It wasn't the alcohol that killed him, it was that mixture of drugs that he took that killed him. In this case, he couldn't abuse a drug until he abused a previous drug. In this case, it was alcohol. Eventually, the alcohol would've killed him, but it looks like the prescription drugs did him in first

As for what I've accomplished, if that needs to be listed for my opinion to be valid, then you should be the first to do so. Paul's accomplishments, on the other hand, were all completely and utterly undone by his failures. He started a family, then destroyed it with his drug abuse.
