Im so glad I left Embarq, now called Centurylink and it was awful, i never knew DSL was that unreliable.. i made a video showing how laggy it was.. this happened like 60% or more in just under a week.. hitting HD on youtube was a dreadful gamble! I now have cable internet and it blows this Dsl embarq crap out of the water.. if i only knew this a long time ago.. i had no idea cable was a whole different story.. I now have windjammer cable and it is consistent 90% of the time which is fine by me.

This guy's video is right on the mark. Embarq absolutely positively sucks. Poor customer service, inferior DSL modems, and DSL filters that are flat-out junk. It all adds up to one pathetic excuse for an ISP.

As for the previous comment about filters... that's one of the first things they tell you to do. There's nothing unique about your solution.

And more often than not (certainly in my case), it doesn't make any difference.

EVERYONE! I think I might know your problem... You have to put the filters on EVERY phone jack you have something plugged into... other wise it is ever slow. That was a problem I had at first. Even put the filter on your TV provider box.

i have embarq as well and at first i was kind of ok with it, but lately i keep getting disconnected from the internet all the time and it wont even let me surf the web as i keep getting those embarq pages that come up asking you to test the connection or set up a static ip

I disagree Clearwire. is THE WORST ISP it takes hours compared to embarq for them to load a page. also in gaming ROFL. wow clearwire lags u for hours and hours and embarq they never get lag at all.

AMEN!!! I have clearwire right now but, im getting embarq in two days (cant wait). Clearwire says you should get up to 1.5 megs but i only get 650kbps. My friend is paying for the Elite connection with embarq and is getting the full 10 megs download, and 1 meg up. EMBARQ IS GREAT!

Actually yes, embarq gets lag. 3/4 of Texas subscribers were internetless yesterday, and ping time is around 400ms for the majority of embarq subscribers in texas. If you wanna game on the weekends, don't bother with them, it's always down. An idea on their customer service and stability go to dslreports*com and check the embarq forum post that n!mrod made. They are exhausted in most of the areas they provide to, and refuse to fix the problem at all. Basically, you're just going to get lag.

I absolutely hate Embarq's internet service. It's horrible, every time i'm on it, it crashes, and i have to take a pen, and reset the modem. It sucks.. but, the phone services are good, except the cell phone services. Every time i'm in my room, texting, i either have to go out of my room, hold it up to the window top corner, or go outside for it just to send.

i actually hate embarq. they are so stupid. just this week i had to upgrade to the new 660 series box and it always goes out now. when i call they tell me that there doing maintenance and in one hour to restart your computer and box. so i do that and it still doesnt work... so stupid... but yea finally it worked today anf they told me that someone who was verifying my box didnt do there job right. fucking embarq!

I had Embarq Internet for 3 years and never had it go down once! Their downtime average is 2% a year that is nothing compared to cables downtiem average of 20% a year. I realize your upset but get a new company then. Or get a tech out to look at it.

we are not in a perfect world, every company is going to have their quirks. however, you need to switch to a company like comcast, just to see how good you have it. it would be physically impossible for any network to have no downtime, it also depends on where you are.

i want you to tell me any one problem embarq has that no other company has, if you can do that, them you have a valad argument.
