  • that wall mat gets a punding. Throwing people against it looks like fun.

  • He is one of the best!

  • Phew. This VT school looks quite serious. While a lot of them in teh flick don't got that '馬' built up (as far as I could tell), a handful of them appear to be real. I mean REAL ... this school must be really good. Cheers!

  • gary lam is great.

  • Gary Lamb - Enough with double helpings of Mushu Pork & Fried Rice!

  • In training they always do Wing Chun vs Wing Chun, how to defend from someone coming at you with Wing Chun punches.

This is a huge weakness in the WC system, they should be training responses against your typical street attacks like boxing punches etc

That is my first thought when looking at this video.

Of course Sifu's skills are superb.

  • Red, you are right as you can be! Amen to that, brother! WC should be preparing for other disciplines as well.

  • @redtortoise76 Wing Chun is case in point, but this is an unavoidable failure in all martial arts.

  • @redtortoise76

With respects, have you ever asked why they do this? The answer itself is quite profound should you ask around.

  • @redtortoise76 it works exactly the same against jabs and crosses. the only thing that's different is hooks, which any decent teacher will still teach you to defend against. Jin Young (you can check him out at his channel: chinaboxer) actually explains how wing chun/chi sao is applied against boxers and grapplers, and tells his students not to pose after a punch even during drills and demonstrations because it's unrealistic.

  • LOL @ the guy in white shirt keep getting push around.

  • @PEBHMONGdotCOM the one from 1:02? He's Dmitry Chaplin. Very hot huh?

  • THAT WOULD NEVER WORK IN THE STREETS

  • I'm just so lucky and blessed to have found Lam Sifu and to be able to train under him...I'm already there this summer!

  • Gary is a good, positive man not frightened of ghosts. Does he smoke or drink alcohol?

  • sweet
