  • What a great idea for a fast and tasty breakfast. No one should skip breakfast!

  • @MusicalOxygen only if you have an actual loaf of bread

  • So easy and creative :))

  • My grandma always called this "egg in a basket." Gotta make some now.

  • in some places they call this a "popeye" great alternative with the cheese bread, cheese and parsley

  • does it work with the thick bread used for french toast?

  • It's all your fault: your recipes have been making gain weight :P

So I am going to use this one, among others, to lose weight :D

  • looks delicious

  • Soooooo....... Is the bread burnt? Or is it cooked on low heat?

  • @vipee Just use med. heat. The egg should cook up before the bread burns. cheers! KtC

  • hard to find unsliced bread loafs in the city..

  • haha thi is such a genius invention lol

  • It has been around for awhile. Kids love it and so do I :)

    KtC

  • my mom has been doing that for years. there so fucking good . and they dont taste like french toast.

    just egg on bread.

  • I like them too. I mix it up with what bread I have (the cheese loaf is great). KtC

  • this looks realy good but i dont have any french bread...

  • I used a heavy crusted cheese bread. yum.

You want (my opinion) a thick bread to work with. Plain white bread is too thin. I only use the plian white bread about 10% of the time. We go through the baguettes and Euro breads. Better for you, better tasting. cheers! KtC

  • Delicious!, now that we calling this a nest....HERE BIRDY BIRDY, I HAVE A suprise FOR YOU(bird call) DA TRAP IS SET.....(random guy sits on egg in chedder nest) Gosh dang it!m well thanks mmmmm this is awesome, well my joke my be bad bu thanks for this!

  • i am going to go make this now

  • My mom calls it birds nest.....

  • Yes, I think that is the most popular. Thanks for the comment, KtC

  • i wanna marry you ! COOK FOR ME NOW

  • I see you are a fan of cast iron skillets. I just got one recently. They are very versatile.

  • yes cast-iron is my choice. There are a few videos on YT on cleaning and seasoning them. They last forever when used properly. cheers!! KtC

  • and they last forever ;) i use some that my great grandparents used in the 30s :D

  • Indeed they last forever, and they add a little iron to the food :D

  • I think the one in the video is about 15 years old. The other one (in some of the vids too) I use went from my great-grandma, to grandma, to mum and finally to me. My mum says it is at least 80 years old! Not much last like that anymore. cheers! KtC

  • Plus they make a good weapon in case you catch a thief breaking into your house, LOL! Just kidding :P

  • I have thought about it :)

    cheers! KtC

  • it was called egg in a hole for me

  • whats the point to this. why not just have cheese on toast and wack a fried egg on top. so much less fuss than this.

  • cooking is only as complex as you want it to be. cheers! KtC

  • yeh some might thinks it a fuss......but if you have kids who are picky..........this presentations for an "egg and cheese sandwich" works.

  • yep, been there. thanks, KtC

  • I use to call this eggs in a basket. when I was younger.

  • yes, me too. KtC

  • I make this at home all the time...for the hole in the bread you can also use the top of a plastic spice container. they are about an inch - inch and a half in diameter and work great if you dont want to use a knife. :)

  • Thank you for the tip! Have a great day, KtC

  • my sons LOVE this! we call them popeye eggs! hahaha

fantastic video! i need to find cheese bread :)

  • Thank you and no flouride either :) You have me thinking about that now. Have a great day! KtC

  • Hey the thick slice is a great idea. I never thought of that, I always did it thin. haha. Looks yummy.

  • I find it cooks better and 'more to enjoy' , thanks again, KtC

  • Deliciouly Delicious

  • Thx for doing my request. I like that you added cheese to it. Smart thing to do because you have 2 cover it anyway.

  • Your welcome. Thank you for the great idea. I do not always get around to the requests but I had bump this one up a bit. cheers! KtC

  • I thought everyone created this recipe? I think it has been around a few hundred year or so. Some flip it over but I like it sunny side up (and with a thick bread slice). KtC

  • my arteries will be thanking me after this! yum yum! Can u so an episode of banana pancakes and macademia nut cream sauce?

  • and your worried about arteries? wow, that's a rich breakfast with that sauce. mmmm..... perhaps. Thank you, KtC

  • Well there are popular dishes and as you have said before most recipes are a guidline. Each individual having there own take on it. Yes, of course I have. Now what are you up too?? ;=) thank you, cheers! KtC

  • Yummy!

  • yum yum

  • yeahhhhh! KtC

  • Great, I´ll show this one to the wife so she´ll know what to make for breakfast tomorrow. :)

  • wow, you are a lucky man. I get a slice of bread tossed at me! cheers, KtC

  • one question,i'm not a yolk person. so can i do it with just the egg whites? if i can,how long would it take to finish the cooking?

  • Even less. Probably only about a minute. Go with a minute and half just to be on the safe side.

  • thanks for the info. :D cheers.

  • wow im cooking that tomorrow morning

  • That looks simple and delicious . Thank you !

  • Your welcome! KtC
