Sweet pot for sure. Someone already beat me too it I see, but you do know about Randy Brodnax's work, right? I was making forms like those in undergrad until I saw his work.
I would say that the ash/woofired finish is great, though.
I'm a 65 year old and I've been throwing for 31 years...your presentation is the best. I am inspired!!! The track, the reverse video, the pot...what a package. I want all my students to watch this, I just hope they get it. The form, the mood, the essence...WOW!!!
I can't say enough. Randy Brodnax would be proud.
Keep up the good work, we will be hearing about you in the years to come.
Get a web site up so we can all see what makes you tick.
thank you for the kind comments... I feel like you got what I was trying to communicate. I really enjoy making these videos and I will be posting some more in the future. I will also be linking a new web site to this page in a few weeks. Once again, thank you!
Man that is a fantastic piece! It is so organic. I am an absolute beginner with pottery but I would be fascinated to know how you achieved the asymetrical qualities in this piece of work. Do you have any other pics or videos of similar work? I would love to see them. Thanks for sharing such a great work!
Wow, you got all the bulges and grooves out of the pot!
Personally, I would have given up and started over, but you persevered and managed to save it - good job!
j/k - The reverse video is cool.

This video inspired me to try this today. Not a success. Much harder than it looks! But I'm trying again tomorrow.

Beautiful and inspiring work. I'm just learning how to throw. I've overwhelmed and overjoyed with the process. Thanks for posting your stuff.

Nice. Did you cut through the sides to sculpt that final form?
icecreamsammich8 4 years ago
Hello,
No, I just used a rubber tipped tool to push in on the form. Then used a sponge to clean it up.

Fantastic. Took me a second to realize it was running in reverse. I am just not used to looking at the wheel from a spectators point of view I guess.

Thank you! I have been playing around with different ways of putting my work online, just something other than the norm.
