I actually thought this was a pretty stylish add-on to your previous statement.
To answer the accusations of condescension and arrogance... quite honestly I imagine that between the 'cunning' (read: devious and scheming) proponents of ID and their (unfortunately) hopelessly baffled followers, we none of us have the energy to explain it all every time.
Joe, ........ I really want to help you out a bit. Despite your exasperation I know you're having fun with this, as we all are.
Are you really going to wait for others to declare something to be known before you will allow yourself to know it, ...... Do you have to get permission from the nameless ones in the temples of academia before you will release your mind to a truth. The Einsteins of the world do not conform to this prohibition, Only the scientific worker bees do.
I like your points but I think you should be a little gentler. I understand being offended, like by people saying you look like a girl (I don't think you really do) but just screw those people. However, the people that got things wrong like the Big Bang, I think you should just explain why they're wrong, but with a less condescending attitude. Otherwise, I enjoy your videos very much.
True - you can be an Intelligent Design supporter as well as one who understands the Theory of Evolution, just as you can be a Catholic and a person who understands the Theory of Evolution...the problem is when people start pretending that ID is anything but a religious belief system and therefor not scientific. I would not hold your breath on the "becoming a scientific theory" deal...
LionArt. Socrates lived thousands of years ago. Jeez! Are you christians COMPLETELY RETARDED? Evolution is a scientific fact that has been proven now and that is being used in practice in science. Therefore even the Pope and The Catholic Church have admitted that evolution is a fact now. Jeeez! Snap out of it! Wake up, fairy-tales are not true! Gods or Toothfairies don't exist! Sorry, but that's just the way it is. And the earth IS 4.5 billion years old and the universe IS 13.7 bn years. Facts!!
Dude, how old are you? ur acting like a child! This isn't even a debate. As you say, it's utter rubbish. I mean u seem like a nice enough guy, but you really have to get off the arrogant high horse....alot more can be debated that way. (oh wait, maybe I'm just trying to evade the real issue...ugh)
ID is not an alternative to ignorance, its an alternative to believing in order from chaos (chaos which can not be recreated). If life were a product of substance, why can nobody take the lifeless and give it life? Why is there no real-life modern-day Frankenstein's monster? I do not see how any alternative to some kind of Intelligent Designer could in theory logically explain this but I'd be open to your opinions.
(3rd comment) It is however an attempt at explaining what has been unexplainable so far, and the statement "God did it" is much more loaded than simply saying "I don't know". It suggests that we can't depend on chaos to start this thing called life which is more than just electro-charged goo, and our naturally self-sustaining world. ID is not an alternative to ignorance, its an alternative to believing in order from chaos (chaos which can not be recreated).
You are right, ID is not an alternative to ignorance, rather it is an acceptance of ignorance. The "god did it" line is used to generate a quick and easy to digest answer to questions that have not yet been answered...this works in a religious setting but not in the world of science.
I thought I'd respond to your other video here while I'm at it anyway. I agree Bill O'Reily was rude, but not that Ben Stein was rude. He was just calling it how he saw it and didn't call names such as "pinhead" like O'Reily did. I've watched other interviews with Ben and I've noticed him say a lot that ID is just a hypothesis and it may be wrong.
Creationism depends on the book of Genesis while ID is much broader. Socrates believed, according to what Plato wrote of him in 5 Dialogues, in a kind of Intelligent Design. I understand he was a classical philosopher and not a scientist. My point is just that Socrates clearly wasn't a Creationist so the two are separate.
You are a fucking Cunt. :)

Intelligent Design is Creationism with a different candy coating. The gooey interior is the same...
