  • how do u dewinterize them

  • YOU JET SKI RIDING ASS BITCH

  • @jujupooh88 LOL! xD

  • Will this process work the same with a 2011 Yamaha Cruiser? I have 3 jetskis 1- 2008 and two 2011. I find it quite expensive to pay the dealer to do this.

  • @dfwjetskis It depends. This is a 10 year old 2 stroke carbureted jet ski, so its about as complex as a cardboard box. Your cruisers will be a bit more complex and difficult, due to the new overhead cam fuel injected 4 stroke engines. Its entirely up to you. As I winterized this one myself, I did the smart thing and took my 07 ultra LX to the dealer. If you want to do it yourself, I would disregard this video and talk to a actual marine tech and find out the proper procedure if you wish to do it

  • dude , you aren't worried about carbon monoxide?

  • @nousernamestaken I'm in a 4 car garage with all doors open and a slight breeze, so not really

  • At 3:48 of the video it looks like you push the choke back in on the engine. Do you have the choke pulled all the way when you are fogging the carburetors?

  • @brianafischer It was partially out during this video in order to keep it running because it was still cold. You don't really want the choke all the way out when fogging. When you pull the choke, a flap on top of the carb cuts off about 95% flow. You want it as open as you can to get as much fogging oil through as possible. Its wise to do this shortly after pulling it out.

  • Good job.

  • @heef62 Thank you!

  • Thanks for showing all of that. I just bought an 1100 STX and was wondering how to winterize the thing.

  • excellent video...thanks for taking the time to help us all save money by doing it ourselves.

  • @chorstma44 make more videos everyone wants your videos

  • Great video, nicely done and thanks for clarification! I was also going to use antifreeze to put thru the cylinder heads as extra protection against freezing (gets cold here in Michigan!)

  • @FC0BCA7E7A Thanks! I am also in Michigan. Gets pretty cold. Antifreeze is a good idea, but not necessary if you get most of the water out

  • Great video, nicely done and thanks for clarification! I was also going to use antifreeze to put thru the cylinder heads as extra protection against freezing (gets cold here in Michigan!)

  • Make more videos?

  • how did you get it on that dolly with out wheels

  • @thercpoop People..... lots and lots of people

  • i am probably going to get a jet ski in the next few months or so and it will be my first one and i was wondering if you could make a video on how to do everything such as load it on the trailer and all the tips that would help me out just like this video did.

  • thanks heaps for that will save me alot of rebuild money, but what about when spring comes is it fine to just start it up and run it as normal with the fogging oil in the piston chamber and carbs?

  • @shaneyshano23 Some jet skies are different. It will probably be difficult to start and will smoke a lot and run rough for a few minutes. Mine wouldnt start unless I gave it a lot of throttle

  • Thank You!

  • Great video bud.

  • I just recently purchase a '97 kawasaki jet ski for the first time. What type or brand of 2 cycle oil are you using on your jet ski?

  • @blazzertube72 Well I use Kawasaki or Mercury brand oil. Its more expensive, but I always use the good stuff. It does the trick too. Mine is 9 years old and so beat up and runs like new

  • Great vid. I like using a shop vac to draw all the water out. If not sure if all was removed, add some anti freeze just as backup ;)

  • revving the motor only removes the water from the exhaust. You need to fill the motor with non toxic antifreeze to prevent the motor from freezing and cracking the block if you store your ski outdoors. From a certified Seadoo tech.

  • @classicoutboards Thhanks for the advice. I thought about that earlier but I am storing both of my jet skies in my garage this winter and its usually about 35 degrees in there

  • @chorstma44 OK man, I would still do it though.

  • Excellent instructions. I can now do a better job winterizing PWC

  • Seriously! make sure you never leave any water in the engine compartment. I just picked up this ski for $20 as is deal. When I got it home I found the motor was seized from rust, I never did get the motor to turn. Tore it down as far as I could, I soaked it in diesel, I beat on it gently, then I broke out the sledge hammer. I decided it needs a new motor. Yes I know how to spell know, I ran out of characters.

  • I wouldn't worry about winterizing it, you should fix it first. I would be worried about that hard start condition on the water. Both of my ski's after sitting for a month, will fire right up in seconds, same in the water, it's very comforting. It's is wise to winterize though! After sitting through last winter, unwinterized, I had a needle valve get stuck closed on one of the carbs, ruined the first trip out. If your cylinders, and crank rust, It can be worse than a seizure, Believe me I no.

  • Hey Man, That thing you think is a choke, is probably a primer. You should pump it, in and out a few times, then start the ski. It should fire right up. Thats why it is so hard for you to start. Try it. I watched another of your videos, the one where its in the water. It should never be that hard to start.

  • @lowpricedpaint That think you think is a primer, its actually a choke. trust me. i know jet skies inside and out. Ive rebuilt 4 tripple jet ski engines in the past 2 years. Thats just jet ski engines. i know about this stuff. It does look like primer though. The reason it is a pain in the ass to start is because it is a old tired jet ski. the compression isnt all that great and it needs a new fuel filter

  • could you use WD 40 to spray the spark plugs?

  • Thanks for the great information. Your video really helped out.

  • i have a seadoo gtx.....anything diff on that, or is it the same?

  • @SELFISHPETE Should be the same. The process is pretty much the same with carbureted engines and fuel injected engines. The two most important things you need to do is run the rest of the water out, and run fuel stabilizer through the fuel lines

  • @chorstma44 could you give me a breakdown on how to run the water out entirely?

  • Thanks man. This is the first time that I will be winterizing my own jet ski. In the past I have always taken it to my dealer. However I moved that the closet dealer is now an hour away. Great video, I really appreciate the tips! I feel much more confindent now!

  • @Scottoh23 No problem. Feel free to ask me if you have any questions. Good Luck!

  • @chorstma44 good video man. my question to you is from the last ride to spring how many times we do the "WINTERIZING"???

  • @bb0mk Only once. It has to be done between your last ride and before you store it or before the temperature gets below 35 degrees

  • another good idea is to spray silicone oil all over the engine.bolts and mechanisms. after every run

  • is it also a good idea to stuff a rag in the tale pipe/exhaust so small critters cant make a home in it while its stored?....great video man, helped me not miss any small details on engine

  • @willybeater Thanks. And you bring up a good point. Personally, I wouldnt block the exhaust outlet in any way in case condensation does get in due to temperature change. I store mine in my garage so I dont have to worry about critters. However, if you are storing it on the ground or outside or if you get birds or small critters in your garage I would recommend a small rag. Small bugs wont do anything. They will just have a very rude, unpleasant awakening in the spring. Haha

  • hey man, great video!, you painted a clear picture that helped me not miss any important small details. Is it also a good idea to stuff a rag in the back tail pipe/water out inpeller?

  • hey thanks this video really helped!

  • @icdalight12345 Your welcome. I really wished there was a video on youtube and I couldnt find one so after I learned how to I'd thought I'd share it. A video is much easier than directions on paper

  • Aren't you suppose to have it hooked up to a hose or do you run it w/o water?

  • @eddiesugar1 You can run it without water for a short period of time and at low speeds
