  • is this better than the D3100 at 1080p video in terms of image quality?

  • I want that t shirt so badly

  • Comment removed

  • heyy .. what other equipment did you use? like dolly, monopod and likewise.

  • It's beautiful

  • kinda looks like youtube killed the quality, ive seen much clearer video than this on vimeo

  • i'm sorry, but what lens did you use?

  • @FrenchVanillaBunny I'm sorry but I really can't remember, we shot this over a year ago now. I think it mostly Nikon 2.8 lenses.. maybe an 85 or 50 1.4 as well.

  • can't tell if the guy is Chinese or Mexican

  • This video feels like a movie's opening scene. Nice.

  • nice!

  • Hi!! speed memory to advise me that the video does not look bad? thank you!

  • Bach - never dissapoints!

  • If you're going to use a fast lens like this for video, it's going to be so soft with focus and you won't get the optimum 1080p. It's probably best for still focus or having the aperture stopped at f/8 maybe.

  • The asian is running bc he lost his license. lol

  • Video 5 max long time? thx!

  • Hi! I want to buy my first camera. Is the D7000 a good camera for me? Well, I am just a beginner and this camera is interesting. I know the features and all, I've been watching your reviews. It is one hot camera! Hmm. Is this camera a good candidate for a beginner? If it isn't, can you suggest cameras that is good enough to practice with especially for beginners.

  • i feel like jogging now.

  • This has probably already been said, but since I haven't read all the comments, here goes again. Don't edit the native movie files from the camera in FCP. You must convert them to Apple ProRes FIRST. H.264 files will lag and not play back well in FCP. It's not an editing compression that works (at this point). So convert with Mpeg Streamclip or Compressor first.

  • really nice dude!

  • He looks like Hitler in Asian Version.

  • really amazing video in terms of quality. I'm using a canon t3i, and am very satisfied. Do you mind if I ask what image stabilizer your using? or dolly?

  • that camera makes any scenery looks good

  • Loving the Porn Tash!

  • NIce. Better to use Class 10 and HC cards, I use these and not give me any problems.

  • nice test. A good range of shots. I'm seeing some slight frame skipping on other videos. Have you noticed that on your Nikon?

  • 1:59 that was a close one there!

  • how much

  • Very interesting! How did you achieve the shallow focus effect in this video(ie: desired subject in focus and background blurry) on some other cameras I have tried it is rather hard. Is it any easier on this camera? also what file types does it save to?

  • @InadamentFilms The degree to which we open or close the aperture on our camera determines the depth of field, brightness, and darkness in every photo. If you take a photo with a huge depth of field, everything in it will be in focus. If you take a photo with a shallow depth of field, only a small part of it will be in focus while everything else is blurred out. If the f-number goes DOWN, the aperture increases, but if the f-number goes UP, the aperture decreases. Adjust focus to move the DOF.

  • @tmlproductions

thanks for the hint... We figured out what the problem was... it was the computer program not the actual camera... which was good to know! But thanks anyways!

  • I know it's a expensive camera, but I can work my ass off by earning money by anything but don't know ?????

  • Has anyone had issues with their D7000 not recording at 25mb/s? I know it's a variable bitrate, but my camera used to do just fine. I'm only getting 20-22mb/s. I'm using a Class 10 16 GB 30mb/s speed card too. I don't get it. Any ideas?

  • what size is your memory card? i just bought the 7000 D and i love it at henrys they told me to get a card an 8G or higher and i have a 8G /10 the ten part of it is good for recording prevents lag card sells for around 60 to 80 dollars sorry i am new to cameras but i love this one my pictures are great and i have no experience

  • hi, this is a really good video! i have a question! i have a d7000 with a nikkor 28mm 2.8 lens, and i am making a music video for media (year 12). Whenever someone moves in my film, there is a very noticeable lag, and when i try and edit the film on final cut pro.... everything stutters and lags.... what lens did you use for this video? what did you use to edit? please help! cristina

  • @CristinaSerafy Hi Cristina, Not sure how I can help too much. For editing we also used FCP and in terms of lenses for this video we used an assortment of them. Although the lens won't matter in terms of lag or anything like that. It could be the setting you're shooting at. Typically video is shot at a shutter speed of either 1/50 or 1/60 of a second, if you're not already trying that, take a shot using those settings. Hopefully that helps!

  • @2dphotography No i havent tried that out yet... thanks heaps for that, hopefully it works!!!!! thanks again

    cristina

  • @2dphotography

I have the same problem as Cristina! I'm trying to make a video for my apartment complex's website, and every time a pan or tilt (1080p, 24p, 1/50) I get a lag ans the video turn not to be smooth. The same thing is happening when I use the slider. I'm using Kingstone class4 and I've just order a 16 Sandisk Extreme pro HD video. That might be the problem?!

  • @bnccristi Well she ended up having problem with the program she was using not the camera. It doesn't sound like you're doing anything wrong, and the the SanDisk Extreme Pro would be serious overkill for your video requirements. I doubt you're having trouble with your card otherwise you'd definitely know. Keep in mind that you are eventually limited with what you can get out of 24p, as well.

  • @bnccristi Just my two cents... my computer is super fast, never a problem, in Avid or just playing the raw files. However, on a mid-level computer, there's definitely a lag, stutter, then catches up, prioritizing the audio. I'm 99% sure it's your computer's speed, or, if not your computer, it's your hard drive (should be a 7200 for HD).

  • @bnccristi `for hd movies, class 10 memmory cards are the only choice. class 4 are not fast enough for that much information, there will be loss of data(chopy video)

  • @blazer57hd Yeah I figure that out, I'm not using Canon 5d Mark II and 7D with CF Sandisk Extreme. Great quality!

  • @bnccristi have you found the problem?

  • @KameraTeamPGmbH Yes.It was the slow SD card together with 24fps. I now swap to Canon 5dMarkII and 7D with CF card. A total game change. It seems that Canon is better than Nikon on videos. I'm very happy so far. Thanks for asking! Good Luck!

  • @bnccristi thank you - i order a sandisk10 card - with the 6 i have the same problems with 1080i. 720 works with the 6 card... Canon is certainly better - but the price is different. Will see the new Nikon. - Have a lot of Nikon optics ...

  • @CristinaSerafy I had the same problem, Figured out about a month later, You need a bigger memory card. (more space) it helped me alot! hope it helps!

  • @CristinaSerafy it might be your computer, the hd technology in the cameras is much faster then older computers, If you have a older computer...I have the same issue on my macbook and my pc. My macbook has imovie and final cut 4 express and I have nero 10 on my pc and i have the lag and studder issue on all of them. It's because i film at the highest setting on my cameras and camcorders, which is too fast for the intel processors in my computers to handle, its time to upgrade to the new intel

  • @FOULBALL525

Thanks so much for that! I think it was the computer. I don't know what my teacher did.... I think he exported some of the footage out of final cut pro to play it through quicktime or something like that, and it was working fine. So for some reason All of a sudden it's all working properly!!! Thanks for your advice though, I think the computer definitely had something to do with it because once I changed computers onto a freshly wiped computer, it seemed to be working properly :)

  • @CristinaSerafy hey i know this post is 2 months old idk if you got your answer but it sounds like you need a faster sd card...try a class 10 for your camera...

  • @CristinaSerafy Probaply you are shooting on 24fps. Be careful when download video to FCP to set up 24fps in the editing set. Otherwise film at 30fps and you can edit 29.9 fps then you won't see the shutter effect.

  • @colorvid The Nikon D7000 cannot film at 30 FPS at 1080p - only at 720p and below. Personally I don't understand why it has this technical limitation when the newest Canon entry-level DSLR can shoot at 30 FPS at 1080p without issue.

  • I read somewhere that the D7000 has full time auto-focus. Is that true? I only ask because you use a lot of shots where he starts out of focus and comes in as he moves closer or further away.

  • @gjflix We didn't use the autofocus at all in shooting this. It was completely manual. The D7000 does have full autofocus modes, although I'm not really a fan of them at all. You can see some examples in the review we posted a while back

  • @2dphotography How do you manual focus while shooting moving video? The autofocus isnt so good on this camera for video.

  • @journeyquest1 look at my comment to InadamentFilms

  • the camera is awesoommee!!! this is going on my wish list

  • Hello I already own the Nikon D700 but I'm very much interested in purchasing this camera just for creating HD videos......Would you recommend this is the way to go. I currently use a Nikon P7000 for the 720P video

  • @bfdowns26 This does do pretty solid video, I'd recommend it but I wouldn't want to tell you it would be ideal.

  • What stabilizer did you use for the moving shots?

  • @vabeachportraits We used a glidecam 2000 for pretty much every moving shot, we also used their vest/arm for some shots as well. But mostly just the glidecam.

  • what lens was used?

  • @arfootball69 Thanks for the question, actually we used a wide number of lenses to shoot this. From the top of my head I know for sure we used the 17-55 2.8, 70-200 2.8, and the 50mm 1.4 sigma.

  • Nicely done. The mustache is awesome.

  • Very nice video...Did you make any editing for light or contrast in this video ?

  • @ArtSoulGroup Thank you. The sun fell behind some very thick clouds for the second half of the video, so we matched the colour in the first half, but other than that we didn't change anything. We wanted to keep it relatively untouched out of the camera.
