@wannaknowit Na prob not, i reckon this is just Thai oil being masseused into the legs/body after training- like they always do-watch some more vids-'thai training' hardness training etc. and you will see this being done.
Im a muay thai fighter ive competed in style against style fighting and TKD simply does not work they have to set everything up where in muay thai everything flows TKD has its place in martial arts but unless a tkd fighter is fighting a tkd fighetr or someone with little experiance in martial arts TKD doesnt work .ive KO'd 3 TKD guys and i gota say im not impressed .if your looking for a combat form that works both in the ring and on the streets Muay Thia is the best theres nothing more vicious
@turtlesnail84 Just because you KO'd some unknown taekwondist, doesn't mean you can sum up the entire taekwondo to that experience. The success of Muay Thai is its simplicity, however, if you were to fight against a taekwondo player on their rules, you will get hit 10 kicks in no time and perhaps get knocked out. The opposite is true too; however, if a taekwondoist modifies his style and adopts a little bit of growling style, he is unstoppable. Watch Serkan Yilmaz, you would know my point.
@mmayan Yilmaz is good for those fighters who move a lot,but some one who closes the distance like Masato, then he is done. Not every TKD will lose to muaythai but 80% will.
just shut the fck up about whose the fastest, lets see a big sized muay thai fighter vs a small size tkd fighter, of cos the small size dude would win, its all in the fighter, stop saying tat muay thai is faster than tkd or other styles is this and tat, it jsut goes to show how ignorant u ""gurus"" are
why people are talking about tkd on all mt clips. i'm not talking about golf on soccer clips. two different martial arts, different systems, different philosophies. you like tkd do it, you like mt do it, you like jkd and /or you want to train all fighting lvls, go for bjj, sambo, all in one mma.
but stop comparing the styles. its good that they are all different, win depents on the fighter
@rwcalloway21 That's what I mean. Olympic style may be faster, but when they try to fight under something like say K1 rules, they know they have to produce power not just the touch. As soon as they try it their vaunter "speed" goes out the window.
Guys from fairtex went to fight sanda in China, they were thrown out of the ring. The leg kicks were weak and those sanda fighters just took it and grab their legs threw them then those thai guys from fairtex kindda scare to even throw the leg kicks after that. I watch on Yutube video.
Beastmasters gym in Altrincham pal, funny that you say that because is'nt it you on youtube criticising other martial arts and claiming your are as quick on feet or kick as fast as olympic standard TKD players ?? if anyone has an unsavoury attitude its you ! just because you harbour some delusional opinions of your own abilities or have a been in your bonnet about TKD, dont pass your opinion off as if there based in any degree of truth because quite honestly people like you get on my tits !
@67CADILLACS u will not see thai in mma for two reason:the muaythai fighters are small ,most the good one are under 140 pounds. No one introduce mma to thailand,no one shown then how to make money.
@YetiGorilla most of the trainers are retired fighters, thai fighters usually retire around 26 years of age as thats the time most peoples bodies start to break down from the constant physical abuse.
Pacquaio has and always will put thai fighters to sleep! maybe its because they LACK technique. ever fighter knows that speed and being fast is just timing... thats why TKD looks faster. van damn knows TKD and look what happen in Kickboxer! he's the real Ramon Dekker...LOL!!!
recently did some thai style workout, i love it! my body is slowly becoming a metal. def gna buy thai pads and my jewish friend and i r gna train HARD and we r gna post some vids!
i love this video! my workout vid/music during my 8 mins heavy bag training. go fairtex. im def considering to go to thailand for honeymoon, so my future wife and i can train here for a week lol
@AtomicKinetic12 yeah his name is Yak 120kg thai fighter is almost unheard of. i only trained there for 10 days but its intense stuff. i also sparred naruepol for 4 rounds, he destroyed me but thats just something you don't forget.
no pues si ya habia visto enconetender asia que eran del mismo gim eyos y aunque naruepol se aya visto muy tonto en el programa es un muy buen pleador
@SR1000EFM That's the point of training, train as if you were fighting your nightmare opponent. even if that means getting your ass kicked every class! haha
@SR1000EFM then you will go far haha My training partner in MMA is Rory Mcdonald, He just got into the UFC and the only reason I haven't lost any of my fights is because he fishes out my flaws by shit kicking me all the time haha
Most of them are pretty affordable - even fairtex pattaya which is the most expensive is still relatively cheap to train at when compared to a usual holiday.
i know that the fighters are badass but those trainers are badass to at holding those thai pads and shit. I been doing Muay thai for bout a year and a half and holding pads is an art by itself!
Fairtex is the name of the brand, they also own gyms and sponsor fighters. its common for kickboxers to adopt the name of their gym. Buakaw for example trains out of Por Pramuk Gym.
People tend to think of TKD as being faster than thai boxing but it only looks that way because thai boxers don't waste ANY techniques. A usual TKD fight looks like 2 guys trying to play tag with their feet whilst being completely terrified of getting hit themselves.
I fight in Scotland and I can guarantee you I'm faster on my feet than most TKD guys and I can throw a kick just as fast - there's jsut no reason to throw a million kicks if they're not landing.
i do agree, im just saying, in TKD competition, u wanna throw many kicks, using as diversion. in mma, definitely should not do that. good fighter like anderson silva can catch one of those kicks and knock u out
Lol I used to train in TKD with AIMAA and had the dubious pleasure of meating so called "master" ameris and I trained for a couple of years with "master" kirkwood. I can wholly say that ameris, who at 7th dan apparently teaches thousands how to fight, can't fight. If he were my weight and i fought him now it'd be a totally one sided affair in my favour.
I did what you did - I joineda good thai boxing gym and quit TKD 1 week later. Couple of years later and I'm embarrassed I ever did it lol
i love my TKD school, its just the fact that we didnt do 2 much bagwork and sparring, it was everything, forms, drills, etc... and my master said, no bjj or mma in here, so im like time 2 go
That's the biggest problem I found with TKD - i liked the people but only once I went to somewhere that was as honest as a thai boxing gym did i realise how much bullshit there is in almost every TKD school in the world. They run TKD as a business and there's altogether too much ego's involved without being able to do much to back it up. Best thing I ever did was leave and now I fight at pro level in the UK. Even been to thailand a couple times - thats an eye opener for sure!
my school, its not bs, great teaching. just that the gym i go now, which is 10 mins away from tkd school, its a lot harder and better. do u fight for like big organization, u gna do it?
Well I'm a nobody really, I'm not important or very good at all yet lol. I'm good enough to coach etc. but that doesn't mean i can fight haha. I do train alongside some of the country's best fighters and I've had the privilage of meeting some truly great fighters like saenchai sor kingstar, ramon dekkers, chanoy and I'll hopefully be meeting buakaw and yodsaenklai when they come over for a show next year.
@ephasm I thought TKD was better, me being a black belt and pretty good at TKD. I was wrong. Muay thai is awesome! just as fast. i really like muay thai. when i go to college, I'm going to try to combine both tkd and muay thai
I agree! I have black belt in TKD and I have competed all over Europe. I have been training BJJ and Muay Thai for last 4 years and it's a different ball game.
TKD is a sport and not really something you could utilize in real fights where as Muay Thai is a very power house sport to knock people out and brake bones.
TKD did help me though with the transition to Muay Thai. The leg kicks, speed I already had it I just worked on power.
@StupidKunt09 i only like muay thai because it's a lot quicker to learn then tkd and i think there's more real life application. But tkd is still sick... very acrobatic and visually appealing.
@ephasm I can promise you that if you think your quicker on your feet than elite tkd players your sorely mistaken my friend, i happen to train mt and think its a fantastic, its the complete stand up art in my opinion but the attitude of alot of people in mt leaves a lot to be desired im afraid.
@nathtkd dunno where you train mate but the attitude of almost every TKD guy ive ever met is a load of bollocks. The preach all this crap about respecting other arts and yet I've never met another bunch of people who're so convinced that TKD is "TEH AWESOME!".
@ephasm I think TKD train like that because the sport of TKD involves a point system(Watch olympics) which involves kicking and avoiding kicks. In a fight a Muay thai fighter would win but TKD athletes aren't trying nescarrily knock people out.
@stratocaster1986able that'd be fine and fair enough if they marketed it and claimed it as nothing but a sport. But more TKD places will advertise themselves as "self defense" than you'll ever find thai boxing places doing the same thing. That's where my issue lies, simply kidding themselves on and basically completely misselling their product. I've yet to meet the pure TKD stylist that could stand against me in a normal fight - and every single one of em claims they can fight.
@ephasm Yeah I see what you mean. Especially with the self defense part, it would take years of TKD even to get it decent for self defense. Maybe its due to the Thai's being that bit more humbe than the South Koreans, who knows?
@ephasm i agree with you man, im training for a muay fight right now. and i was sparring with this TKD guy and he kept throwing all his spinning kicks and I just waited and then came in and dropped him first shot with an uppercut.
Yes my friend that is the beautiful style of Muay Thai. Gotta love it. Muay Thai is best in its raw form with no extras or alterations. I love How thAIS FIGHT.
yodsanklai was the biggest beast of them all, i train at the fairtex in san fran you see pictures of those guys all over the walls. I've trained at the one in bangkok too, there are 12 year old kids that do that moving 20 kick, f'ing nuts

I love How thAIS FIGHT.

are they all brothers?

hahaha no. Thai fighters adopt the surname of their Gym to show respect to their trainer. their real names are usually completely different.
