One of the most haunting and achingly beautiful arias ever written! Mathis handles

the enoumous challenge by using a host of warm and cool colors in her voice

with intelligence and genteel but affecting pathos. The legato passage at 1:27

proves her experience and expertise with Mozart's operas as well as her solid

credentials as a superb, refined and sensitive musician. Horst Stein's

conducting is intuitive and wonderfully supportive. Thank you, Satoko and
