Excellent cover of a Buddy Holly classic! Just made a comment on the "What You're Doing" video that I would've liked to hear Buddy Holly and the Beatles do that song together, then I thought of this one. You can tell who they were influenced by back in the day.
The Beatles often came into the BBC radio Studio, to do a live gig, on Saturday Club, with Brian Mathew. They would often have the other guests, all in one jam session. The Four Tops as back up vocals, on each others songs, etc, & I expect Ringo didnt want to bring his drum kit with him. I used to work on a saturday, & we would all sing along, in the wheelbarrow factory, Richards & Hewitts, in Dorking, to all the great songs we heard!"

I held her close. She hit my arm away, but her eyes glistened and she licked her lips hungrily . I was hungry too. I ordered the filet, she walked away. Later as the customers filed out this song played. She squeezed my hand. We did it on the red velvet booth. She had a rubber soul-but this tiny town had no rubbers. I grew up a fan of both Buddy Holly and the Beatles...and I have to say..this is a really amazing cover. :) Even my Pap likes it..and he's a diehard Buddy Holly fan who hates when people redo Buddy songs. haha.
A fine tribute to the King of Rock & Roll -- Buddy Holly. I love both the Cricket's version and the Beatles copy. Great song.

A silly little love song written by the late great Buddy Holly...and the Beatles do it as much justice as The Crickets

A Buddy Holly cover. Too bad he died before he got a chance to hear this. I would have loved to have heard what he thought of it.

@elshedai9 I'm going to assume that by "gay", you mean "happy", which definitely applies to the song. I appreciate that you complemented it.

I listen to Brian Matthews's show most Saturday mornings on BBC Radio 2 and pick up some interesting info about the songs he plays :-)
