Is facestab really all that bad? a facestabbing spy is defenseless as he takes an unusual heavy offensive to get to the front of a character who can easily kill him in one-two shots or keep their back out of his way.

A spy is weak and not exceptionally fast so backstabbing pyros and scouts is made hard because of it. There is a lack of balance. The way I see it, the facestab is a spy knife's deserved random crit and his ONLY counter to the flamethrower (a puff+afterburn is enough to kill him).

Other than the backstabs, they give the Spies SO MANY cheap ass fucking items and then give it barely noticeable drawbacks and call it balanced. The Dead Ringer for one good example. He becomes pretty much invulnerable when cloaked with the Dead Ringer. Then there's the Ambassador, critical head shots. ARE YOU FUCKING JOKING?? THAT'S THAT SNIPER'S ABILITY!

The usual facestab accusation happens when a guy sees the Spy in front of him, but the Spy is a little bit closer of where he sees, and in server time he didn't fully turn around yet, making a backstab even if the laggy backstabee's screen says otherwise. However, this here are completely different cases, where the backstabee was always looking straight at the Spy.

i got an idea.

backstabs are registered by the relative facings of the spy and his victim.

if they face the same direction, its a backstab. if the face opposite directions, its a normal stab.

makes sense, no?

@towndrunk23 No it's not. If one of the two players have a high ping, the spy registers the moving hitbox a tad later than it should be. With a high ping the hitbox is a bit before you when you move backwards, resulting in the frontstab being recorded as a backstab (as with the ping the server taught he hitted him in the back).

You do know that facestabs still happen just as often as they used to did, and guess what, no-body notices because it happens so rarely anyway.

If you want to talk about "No Skill" how about Every class in the game except medic, because on a team full of assholes, there are NO medics, figures.

What about scouts? You ever see a good scout before? What about a good pyro? You ever try explosive spamming one before? You probably don't know this, but the heavy requires quite a lot of skill due to him being UP.

I get facestabbed all the time if my ping is higher then like 50, most spies also tend to turn around in circles around you hoping for a lucky backstab with the broken hitbox. The sappers are insanely noob friendly, you just hold it out and press down M1.
