This really should be as well known as Volare, really should. Another lost Elvis classic. I still don't think most people realise just how great Elvis was. There must be a couple of hundred hidden gems in his back catalogue. A Little Less Conversation proved it. Any nominations for Elvis' greatest hidden gem? Try 'Is It So Strange' for starters.
What a beautiful song. I had almost forgotten that Elvis recorded this song. I don't remember if it was sung on one of his movies or not, but I can remember hearing it alot at my house, because everyone in my family loved Elvis.
@MsGnorts Elvis was a melancholy man, he felt very lonely and sad, but he was always laughing, the mother´s death marked his life. He liked always to have a lot of people with him and don´t feel the cold loneliness. If you see wen he sung he looks lonely and sad, and when Priscilla left him, his world come down as when his mother died.. That's why they gave up and neglect their health.
Stop comparing genius with other genius. It's pointless. They are all geniuses in their own right, so just let them be what they are and let people enjoy them forever.
I completely forgot about this song. When I heard it again on this post, I listened to the words and just wept. I played it again for my husband and we ended up slow dancing right here in the living room. Simply gorgeous! Now I need to go get a tissue. Thanks for bringing back some good memories!
Thanks for sharing your wonderful lovesong with me, this song is so special for me, because my best and very sweet friend in the world "Josee" in Canada has shared this song with me, thanks Josee, you make me crazy and happy with your wonderful lovesongs.
Best regards Chris - The Netherlands - Europe - YouTube chrismayka.
I've always loved this song immensely. Elvis is the only individual who I've ever heard sing this very spectacular and underrated song. This video was absolutely magical in every way, 10 Stars as always Jackie.
Floyd Cramer is playing the organ. It was the B-side to Aint That Loving You, Baby. It is available on Elvis Gold Records, Vol. 4, Elvis: The Other Sides-Worldwide Gold Award Hits, Vol. 2, The Lost Album, and From Nashville to Memphis: The Essential 60s Masters.
Ask Me was the Italian song Io written by Domenico Modugno. The English lyrics were written by Bill Giant, Bernie Baum, and Florence Kaye. Elvis first recorded this song on May 27, 1963 at RCAs Nashville studios but that version was not released as the single. The released version was recorded on January 12, 1964 at the same studio and it reached #12 on Billboards Hot 100 chart during its 12-week stay.

Domenico Modugno also wrote the more famous worldwide hit 'Volare'.
Great singer and writer, nice to see Elvis recorded one of his (beautifully, as usual).
