  • mr mc dermott. you should come to salzburg sooooooon again :)

  • oh yeah.

  • Hey! Fantastic! Five stars!

  • Are you humming throughout? There's something in the background that's very distracting .... mebbe it's just my speakers ... couldn't make thru the whole piece despite the totally cool arrangement.

  • @NotHolierThanThou I used to take lessons from Tom. That is humming you hear. He always does that. Whatever helps him play like that is fine with me.

  • Fascinating improv., diamond-hard swinging, and along with Robbie Rhodes' recording, one of the best MLRs on YouTube!

  • Absolutely cool. I love it.

  • Pianoguy96 again! Great video. I play that song alot. But I can't improvise on that song nearly as well. It has some major variations, but it's the same song the whole way through.

  • nice

  • phantastic job, Tom. Those variations, key-change, great. sounds absolutely unique.

  • Hey Tom,

We also love to Jopple! This is indeed a first rate job of ReJoplinizing! Ever since co-founding the Maple Leaf Club in LA.(1967)I have come under the scrutiny of Classic Rag "Experts" who seem to remember how Scott Joplin actually played it(rivaled only by those who remember Buddy Bolden's original recordings).......This is the 21st century: let's all rejopple ragtime!

  • Great job, Tom. No, it's not great, it's fantastic, unique, clever, sophisticated and it's still ragtime and it still swings. I love your playing. I remember you played really well on that awful upright in our club in Kecskemét, Hungary with my Bohém Ragtime Jazz Band many years ago. Aren't you coming towards our direction some time?

  • You're fantastic Tom. I wish you recorded a whole CD of Scott Joplin. It's such a privilege to see you play. All the best.

  • This is a great version of this tune. It is uniquely Tom's. I wish more ragtime pianists would put themselves into the music the way Tom does.
