  • Funny scene.

  • Lovely!!!

  • Well, she had the north of England in her blood. Stan was originally from Ulverston.

  • God bless her and her dad!!

  • wow look at the timing the funny look in the window and the walk. you can see the comic genius has been passed on from father to daughter even in those few seconds

  • Cute. An "in joke" for we fans.

  • Thanks for posting this. I enjoyed it immensely.

  • Nobody would have known without the music

  • was 'Hawes' her proper surname?....Stan's mam was born in Hawes (well Bainbridge but the Hawes area of Yorkshire)

  • very amusing

  • A rather weak gag if you ask me.

  • @wmlfan9 I concur

  • @wmlfan9 no one is asking you

  • @manclad2 Well, that's why I used the word "if". I never said that anyone IS asking me.

  • Lois - if you catch this - don't know if you remember, a few years back, we had a 2-hour conversation after my email when I contacted you -and you kindly rang me back - to say that I was doing work on your Dad's and Oliver's story? It's taken me all these years but - here I am! And I never got to say thank you for yor time - so many thanks, Lois! I'm afraid that injury and family bereavements got in the way originally - but better late then never!

  • Now watch 'Summer Wine Women'.

  • fantastic! first time i've ever saw this clip (and i LOVE l o t s w). god, isn't this sweet lady the double of her dad? thanks for this little gem my friend. as for laurel and hardy....i have pretty much everything they have ever done. the best double act the world has known or will know. i've alway found one thing to be true. if anyone doesn't like laurel and hardy i know for sure i won't like them. a bit crazy but nontheless true.

  • Seeing Nora wearing the same hat, considering she was just leaving, hardly seems like a good reason to dash out of the cafe!

Was the L&H theme in the original clip or was it your own addition?

  • Last of the Summer Wine, which started in 1973, is the longest-running sitcom in the world. 10 more episodes are commissioned for 2010. But, as many have stated here already, the show isn't what it used to be. On the other hand, neither am I. :D

  • love the show but the old one are going rip

  • That was cute. What kind of show is this? I saw that some of the cast of Are You Being Served appeared on this show too. Is it still on?

  • Last of The Summer Wine was a gentle comedy that ran for years on BBC. The main characters were three likeable pensioners who, like Stan & Ollie, never quite got it right.

  • Thank you! I am going to check it out!

  • @lisamaria1972 Last of the Summer Wine is as Hywelmurray mentioned a gentle comedy about pensioners, sadly many of the main cast have passed on now but it still carries on with younger actors who have reached an age fitting for the show, but it is not quite the same. As for Are you being served unfortunately that is no longer running, they did bring a spin off out called Grace and Favor a few years ago but it was cancelled. Sadly 3 cast members have passed on. So I don't think it will return.

  • Thank you for that info. I am now on Season 9 of Are You Being Served? I saw something about the show Grace & Favor which I think is also known was Are You Being Served? Again. Also Mr. Humphries was in a show called Are You Being Served in Australia. There is a movie also but the ratings wasnt that good

  • @lisamaria1972 No,"Grace & Favor" is a spin-off of "Are You Being Served".

  • I never knew that was her. I always thought that they just played it for something comical

  • Well well, like gemini16th, I always wondered why they played the Laurel & Hardy theme during that scene. Brilliant.

  • learn something new everday

  • WOW- I've seen that episode a couple times & always wondered why they played the "Laurel & Hardy" theme when she came in the door, wearing the same hat Nora had on. I've seen Louis Laurel in L. & H. home movie videos before- she was just hard to spot here!

  • Wonderful !!! Thanks for posting

  • hey up nora wooooooooooooooooo those stockings!

  • didnt no tht

    lol

he is me grt uncle n i didnt no tht??

well, wat family i am lol

  • Laurel and Hardy live on!

  • Nice! L&H rock the planet! Sons of the Desert forever!!

  • thank 4 this one

  • Never saw this Ross, thanks :)

  • Hey Ross, It's Sarah, or Stan'N'Babe, I see this Show every Saturday on PBS or KERA 'cause I love British comedies, I don't particularly love this one but I have never seen this scene yet, but now I'll remember this every time I watch this show. Thanks for putting this up! I'll be on the look out for this scene! Nice to know Lois is doing things on television. I love how they played the Ku Ku song at the end!!!
  • Hi Sarah good to see you here. I agree this is a nice rarity.

  • is she the one on the left??

  • she's one who enters the shop then rushes out again because she's wearing the same hat.
