  • Bro thats a sick idea putting lights in the vents , how'd u get them in there tho

  • @umravenow had to dis assemble the dash, take the duct work out, drill a hole in the back of the vent, glue a led in, and repeat for the others

  • @eye8owne8u oh fosho , I'll prob take mine to a mechanic or something cuz I'm not trying to fuck anything up on my scion ;p looks tight tho

  • Seem very bright for night driving, can you dim them?

  • @gasitman The camera makes them look brighter than they are, they're not dimmable, and they dont seem to bother me or my dad when driving. If one ever does, we just move the air vent and the light is blocked!

  • why would you choose greeeeeen?!

  • @MACKYDELICIOUS the car is green, and that's what I wanted.

  • I'm looking to pull off the same project. The dude you bought from off eBay isnt selling anymore. Is there a similar kit you can recommend? I'm looking for the same amount/similar effect you created....even the same color.

  • He's still selling, I just checked. His ebay name is "led-hk".

  • i have blue leds in my 06 xb. u did a awesome job on ur 05 xb dude. add me on facebook, im howmiejonez

  • nice, i have alot of preinstalled led lights in my xb already but i like these which there was a tutorial on it. Are they aqua?

  • when you wired them did u do them in parallel or in series? and do u have a problem with LEDs going dim if your using the cig lighter?

  • I wired them in series, and I don't really use my cigarette lighter, so I don't know, but I would imagine that it wouldn't be that much of a problem, because the cigarette lighter is probably on for about 30 seconds, and that's it. I DO use the cigarette lighter for power inverters and my radar detector sometimes, and I have never seen the LEDs dim.

  • Oh damn. I just got an '05 xB and I'm gonna have to try this. Just need to find some purple LEDs and I'll hopefully be able to wire these.

  • go for it, it looks cool, is cheap, and isn't too hard to do. You don't even have to solder anything, just splice and tape the wires together! I just tapped into the 12 volt from the cigarette lighter.

  • where did you purchase these???

    Looks cool

  • got the leds off of ebay, the guy's username is ledhk

  • i think he changed his name to led-hk

  • thats pretty cool.

  • also, when you got the leds, were they prewired, or did you do any soldering w/ ur own wires?

  • they're prewired, i just spliced them together.

  • hey, hope you can help me, i want to do about the same thing to my 05 xb, maybe add leds in the cupholders, but could you help me w/ how to do it? i'm not sure what leds to buy, if they should have an inline fuse or not and what kind of switch to control them

  • you shouldn't need a fuse, the cigarette lighter is already protected by a fuse, and look for a ebay user named "ledhk", that's where I got my led's from. They're great quality, just get the prewired ones.

  • I have a 2008 scion xb and it looks awesome cuz of the spoiler and all. The sound system is awesome that comes standard. But kudos to your setup. the squared off top is an acquired taste.

  • Yeah, I really didn't like it when I got it. It really grew on me, it's a fun car. I want to get a spoiler after the exhaust system....it may also help keep the back window more clean....

  • Looks better, but has a few downsides. Bigger engine: Sounds better eh? Well yeah, if you have the $ to pay for the loss in fuel economy. 1.5l motor to a 2.4. The 1.5 gives me about 32 miles to the gallon, the 2.4 (my friend has one) gets about 22-24ish to the gallon. Plus it costs alot more. The base model starts around $17,000 w/o taxes. I got myne loaded for $14,000 with taxes. Overall, I am really pleased with this car, and have no reason to get rid of it. Just my 2 cents.....

  • Ever consider trading in for the newer version which looks better in popular opinion.

  • got 20 green led's on ebay for about $8, and this does NOT void your warranty!

  • how much did this cost and when you installed them does it go against your warranty
