I HAVE A QUESTION...OR TWO...iF PUT PLATES ON ONE SIDE OF THE BAR ONLY WHICH MY BAR IS KIND OF LONG...ITS FOR BENCHING..WILL THAT WORK? AND FOR MY SECOND QUESTION IS SWINGING A SLEDGEHAMMER TO A TIRE OR GROUND WORK AS WELL...i LIFT WEIGHTS..POWERLIFT BUT I WANT MORE POWER AND STRENGTH
A friend of mine bought an olympic bar from walmart for under $20 and sawed off one end to make it a little shorter. He said that it worked great for him.
most of the jori (fat baseball type maces) i trained with in indian arkharas were around 1 meter, approximately 10 kg. only gada (lollipop style) were longer, with a few beastly exceptions. I noticed though that gada were preferred for the more technical stuff while jori mostly was for basic swings. So you could try out with a sledgehammer, and if you like it "upgrade" to macebell if you want to try more elaborate drills.
i guess, but I would not try it as with the amount of force generated and vibration the possility of the plates comming lose and causing injury is IMO great.
Good job & Good music!!! :-)

How would you compare the macebells to the clubbells?
Manontheearth 4 years ago
It's like comparing barbells to dumbbells. It's the same family of tools.

instead of a baseball bat, would you get the same effect by swining a sledge hammer?

Good question. A sledge hammer is not the same. The handle of the sledge is too short which winds up putting un-due stress on the shoulder joint.

would this be the same as swinging a barbell with only one end with weights attach?
