i mean it isn't really their fault that their using diesel, it's the ACO's for not equalizing the rules to make it more fair for petrol engines. then they would probably go back to petrol.
@chipattack911 Agreed. I dont like the way prototype racing appears to have become like a technological demonstration ground for manufacturers to show off their more 'green' technology, like the diesels and hybrids and so on. The old R8 engine sounded awesome, and it shouldn't be the case that the rules are biased in favour of alternative fuels - it should be nicely equal, so that if a team wants to enter a hybrid or a diesel, they go up against the petrol cars on equal terms.
@chipattack911 Absolutely. I don't care that the Diesels are supposed to be efficient and 'green' - if the rules were as they were five years ago, they would be using petrol engines, as they are the most effective for performance. By all means give diesels and hybrids a chance at being successful, but its ridiculous how biased the rules are in favour of this technology to make the ACO look all 'green' and 'environmentally-concious'.
@chipattack911 It's ridiculous. I've never believed in the theory (man-made global warming) anyway, but it sickens me that teams and car manufacturers feel the need to show themselves as sanctimonious and 'environmentally-concious'. Seriously, motorsport is an escape, its a SPORT, its somewherewhere man and machine are tested to the very limit, its not a place for political posturing. I'm in the UK and I can guarentee we will screw up the 2012 Olympics with 'green' posturing and other such crap.
Why isn't this on gt5 :\

The first minute is wonderful. Shame the oil burner spoils the rest of the video!

@NightFightah
Exactly, wtf? if they were allowed to race twin turbo V12 petrols just like they raced twin turbo V12 diesels, they'd be kickin some ass too

@NightFightah Nicely stated. I feel the exact same way. This whole "green" thing is becoming a religion.
