Your piraya's been beaten up dude. But, of course i do admire the piranha's super healing powers just like wolverine from X-men. I also love your vid but, still your piraya needs to be in a separate tank for em to grow up a little bit, then you can reintroduce em back to his/her mixed shoal just to be safe.
id sell a few of those caribe and put some driftwood in the center to break it up and add some plants and other cover. must get costly feeding all those hungry mouths with fins.
its natural for pirahnas to be shy, especially when there still juveniles. they will be shy until they reach 6- 8 months. I have four and thier about 3 months
mine are so skidish how are yours so like tame idk if thats the word but they dont shoot to the side of the tank. what can i do to make them not so shy when i walk up
Keep lights on for several hours a day so they can get used to it, pay attention 2 hours a day on them so they can get used to you, a lot of hiding spaces will cause them to be really shy, another reason why they might be shy, because they are still at small age, wait until they get bigger they won't get shy at all.
surely, giving them hiding placed allows them to hide, it doesn't make them shy. Not giving them hiding places means that when they are scared they have nowhere to go. Yes, they get braver as they grow older, but they should have the chance to hide if they want to because red bellies are a naturally skittish fish.
@mikestrucks89 well how long do you have them mine do that 2 but after some time they aren't shy anny more does you thank have hiding places it helpt 2 make them less stessest
i love that, don't know why the piraya would die, what size tank is that and filteration? do water changes more to reduce nitrates, esp with that bio-load and feeding, what do you feed these guys?
i can see they are breathing a bit to fast m8,the nitrites are good its the nitrates that are high,i have got a aquamedic nitrate reducer for my 8inch manueli and the no3 level is at 5-10mg/l so i'll be getting the nitrate reducer 5000 for the pygo shaol which will be magic :)
what problem do u have? are you no2 too hight?? if the answer is negative, well....u should give a bit of oxigen to those poor Pygos, that tank it's crowded and i don't see enough plants or oxigen...
isnt it a bit full? great looking fishes!
