Super Mario Galaxy used orchestra, because the theme of the game's outer space (the universe's vastness) can be expressed with orchestra. Now, I wonder what kind of music combinations and styles will be done for Skyward Sword.
Ganondorf has been waiting for this day to come... The day the Hero of Time opens the pathway to the future Hyrule. The time has come... Ganondorf lets loose his armies of monsters and evil! He reeks havoc on Hyrule! The holy temples become infested with his minions! He lays waste to anything in his path. And now, Hyrule Castle is all that is left to destroy, and conquer...
This falls apart at 2:47... what the hell is that? "Ganondorf's Theme" is butchered. Really wish Shiro Hamaguchi arranged this as opposed to Valtonen. He doesn't know how to handle Koji Kondo's compositions it seems thus far. On to video 3...
@xJsW116x Like lewis black said....you get to sit down there and just listen...but for me... "i'm fuckin workin up here!!" :P i'm sure it has to feel like work after the ten billionth time of rehearsing this.
This is beyond amazing. These performers have portrayed this piece in the most excellent of ways. The depth, climax, and sense of despair can be not only heard, but FELT. That IS what music is about, FEELING it. At around 1:15, I truly had a feeling of death reigning over me. I have to agree with what EclipseStudio said, this IS what would have been played if Ganon won.
This is how ALL of Nintendo's music should sound! :D ESPECIALLY Zelda games! I swear, if they make another one that's really badass looking, with this music, I don't think I'd be able to get through the first boss without being shocked and aawed by the soundtrack, just as I have been by listening to this piece!
@enterprise0709 You just need a Conductor who wants the orchestra to play video game music. The orchestra performs the music, whether or not they want it (if they like to get paid). And of course you need somebody to make the arrangements for the pieces and the note sheets for the musicians.
this is the coolest piece so far in the suite. its a bit wierd to watch people perform it cuz it paints such a vivid picture of ganon/ganondorf to me. xD;
Ganondorf Ganondorf! ! Ganon Ganondorf!

Ganondorf's theme, they really captured the quiet tone that rises up as the song goes and the fierce atmosphere the song has.

It's great to see a contrabassoon solo. As a bassoonist, the bassoon doesn't get enough attention, let alone a contrabassoonist.
