Weed Out Hate is a grass roots inititative that can give peace a chance by asking each of us to take responsibiliity to symbolically remove our inner weeds, so that that humandkind can begin to perceive the possibilities of the future. The moral dilemmas that peace activists of the 60s faced, begin to resolve themselves once you begin to implode the desire to hate others into the noble intention of symbolically rooting out hatred itself. This this symbolic act, one taps into the power of nature
Beautiful Message! Update 6/05/11USA Three confirmed poison power meltdowns at Fukashima, Japan. No mass media coverage anymore. Why? Guess few of us care or just feel powerless, to what happens to mankind anymore. Let us hope that the future 'North American Union', that is in the plans...(hope not!) will just use the warm power of the sun & the restless power of the wind! Our voices & our votes can transform the world!
Thank you so much for posting this wonderful performance of this very relevant song. This song has been much on my mind recently, for obvious reasons. (I even got my guitar out last night to try to learn it.) It should be pointed out that the music and lyrics were written by John and Johanna Hall. The Peter, Paul & Mary recording is currently available on their album "Songs Of Conscience & Concern."
I saw Peter Yarrow, Pete Seeger and John Hall singing this at John Hall benefit in 2010. It was incredible.

Noted a third verse in this version, but I can't understand the last line. Could you please post the words? I'd love to learn it!

@cacciatorebarbarella
We are only now beginning to see
How delicate the balance of nature can be
The limits of her ways have been defined
and we've crossed that line

@ppmcsk Thank you. Can you understand the words on the last line of this verse?
Now, some don't even care or know that we'll pay
But we have seen the face of death in our day
There's so little time to change our ways,
?

There's so little time to change our ways
If only we together can say
