@ayieshastewart I cut Sophie myself.The only thing I do to her head is cut around the edges and thin the ends. I love long-haired shih tzus, but it is impossible to be sanitary with it. So, I cut her body to about 1-1.5 inches and the legs to about 2 inches. I leave her tail very long about 6-7 inches all the way from it's base to the end. We just ties it up with a scrunchie when she goes to potty.

I can't wait either...you will have such a good time with her. We started the celebration about 6 weeks prior to her birthday...giving her a gift everytime one arrived in the mail. Luckily one did arrive on her birthday.

Thanks....we can't resist when it comes to buying for Sophie. Sophie says thanks too! I kept my Ruffles in a puppy cut most of her life, but Sophie tries to help with the grooming, so I can't get the scissors or clippers near her face. Her moves are very unpredictable. I could never forgive myself if I hurt her.

I know how that feels, Murph flinches with scissors near his face but I can usually hold his mustache to trim his eyes. He stays still then but can you blame them for not wanting sharp things near their eyes? lol They are stubborn little ones though.
