hehe ya thts true...im indian and i bought up hearing tht dark people r ugly! but now i love the choclate color! but i still have this negative reaction if i hear if someone says: he/she is dark.

yea i know i am also South Asian and i have many Indian friends who try to cover themselves up during summer , to prevent themselves from getting dark....and it bothers me quite a lot ... at least you admit that being indian you were brought up hearing dark people are ugly ...there are some Indians out there who DENY it but its truee a lot of indians or South Asians (Srilankans) are quite prejudice when it comes to skin color....only if others realized it like you :)...

OMG! you are trying to judge whole country on the basis of few of your friends, idk about you but I must say in India there is lot of racism but not on basis of color here every 1 is busy with cast and creed not on color no 1 sees color here, we are struggling enough to get rid of these itself now dont bring color in. it is that we are a tropic country we cover our skin it has nothing to do with racism

@baveeta yep it's true asian people seem to care a lot about skin colour. if you're fair skinned somehow you're pretty whether your features are nothing special. maybe it's coz i live in a country where there is a multitude of races that i really dont care but even here asian people seem to favour light skin
