Awesome! I remember doing Basic programs, with a user interface like that. Nice large letters, 3 options, each with a highlighted keystroke. Also the numbers in front of the options, accompanied by the option to hit the number on the keyboard. Simple but very easy to use. I think programmers today could learn a lot about user friendliness from this ;)
it's amazing how things chance and how they also stay the same, IE same crappy NHS grub, yes you do need 'good wholesome food' in hospital it's just a pity you don't get it.
I remember watching this during my computer studies class, and we had Pets and BBC Computers. A different world! My first computer was a Commodore VIC-20 and I remember copying a programme from a magazine, spending about 5 hours just to get a very basic version of Space Invaders, and ending up with the ubiquitous `Syntax Error` message. You young `ns don`t know you`re born these days. Oh, and of course the film `Wargames`. Sums it all up!
lol no one really has much choice these days. This type of system was a useless one. and the bit where it calculated the price for each dish, i wonder how many times it got that right.
It seems really creepy to me that the government had their own "BBC micro" computer, and hocked it on their government run TV.

What an awful piece to camera! Dressing up as a patient - "I'm in hospital". It's Chris Morris-esque!
