Royal Marines training is 32 weeks

USMC is 12 weeks

Royal marines commando training is much harder than the USMC training.

but from what i understand the USMC recon Unit training is on the same kinda level as royal marine training

you're right, just because they are Marines doesn't mean they should be compared. royal marines are more like our Rangers. but you're wrong about the training. BOOT CAMP is 13 weeks and then they go to another 12 weeks of MOS training whereas royal marines do it all in one fell swoop. both groups are great at what they do and while 11 year olds like to fight over which is better on youtube, they're really on the same team

as far as i know, all marines at SOI(school of infantry) go through basic infantry training for several weeks. the ones that will have an MOS of 03(infantry) stay there to get the more specialized training like those listed above. marines that have non infantry MOS, go elsewhere after basic infantry to get their training. i'll ask my recruiter the specific lengths of these sections next time i see him. i just enlisted...

@pimptastic666 Marines that are infantry are in the field of 03, they then choose their specific MOS such as machine gunner, mortar man or what not... 0311 is the basic rifleman. All US Marines do a combat training school though, but its only three weeks. Most of your more advanced training, if it's relative to your MOS, comes after you hit the fleet. For instance I was Military Police and part of our job is related to combat operations, so we conduct lots of rifle training, machine gun training
