@MrFredGoldstein You see Freddy. If you want your so called "White privelege" to end in this White established nation, videos like these wouldn't exist. Instead you would have an environment resembling Somalia or Mexihole. Would you feel right at home in that kind of non-White environment?
I first heard it with Primal Scream, but never guessed it was by them, Then I found Lee Hazlewood quoted in a Baustelle song(Panico!) so i made some research and I came here. I don't care if you don't care, but I do and thought loosing some secs for this was worth it. Meaning of this comment: go and check that Baustelle song if you're interested.
Phaedra, sometimes known as Hippolytus, is a play by Seneca the Younger, telling the story of Phaedra and her taboo love for her stepson Hippolytus. It is an adaptation of Hippolytus
Never knew Sinatra sang this tune...Go Figure...I was looking for the original acid head version...Anybody know the name of the group? I also heard it on an eclectic station...Bill kelly's Black Hole OF Rock And Roll FMU 91.1 Sundays from 3:00 until 5:00 (garage rock)...It's all good
@DRGONZO714 this version is the original, but Vanilla Fudge did a spooky psychadelic version a year or two later. I think that's what you're looking for.
@danielvlee Thank you for replying...According to the playlist on my garage rock station(FMU...91.1) the version I was looking for was by "JOE CHRIST"....???... I can't find any info but It's the best version (guy & chick) I ever heard It really captures the 60's tripping era....chow
I First heard this on The Art Bell radio show Coast to Coast. His show is great, it is on internet radio And he plays excellent Music. This is only one of my many favorites that he has turned me on to! Also check out Crystal Gayles': Midnight in the Desert- which she wrote for Art Bell and his show! -E
I first heard this song on the radio show Coast to Coast am, and I only just discovered the title...lol. Great song, it's catchy and haunting. It's one of those songs that you just have to listen to repeatedly......well at least for me it is. Anyways thanks for uploading!
I'm really sorry I didn't start listening to Nancy Sinatra years ago.Always avoided her because of Frank(a real waste of space) these boots was allright but this is classic. Helps of fourse to work with the genius Lee Hazelwood

IMO this is the BEST version -- and yet somehow one of the least popular? oh well. great song and great version, not a fan of the newer harder sour covers from various artists. doesn't quite slide down your throat like this does. or should i say ears?
This was the flip side of "These Boots are Made for Walking" on the 45 vinyl. My sister who was much older had it. I remember thinking it was such a neat song.
Kinda weird how upon getting here the # of views was my birthdate! I loved this song since I 1st heard the orchestral beginning and the strange mashing of 2 strangely-related songs. Kinda reminds me of "A Day in the Life" by the Beatles.
I heard this song in the shoe shop the other day and it sounded like I was in a dream..... Great track

Will someone PLEASE tell me what this song is about?
It's an awesome song, but it makes absolutely no sense to me.
I know about the Greek mythological story of Phaedra and Hippolytus, but the song lyrics don't match up with the story AT ALL!
What's up with that?
