No big difference. If there is a difference (which it probobly is cuz component values change over time) it's not worth to pay all that extra money for a vintage. BTW your reissue will sound almost like the old when it gets old. :-)
Question: Can a Flanger and a Uni-vibe type pedal be interchanged or at least get that same "Hendrix" sound from a Flanger? I'm tring to figure out the differences in sound between vibes, flangers, phasers and chorus.....they kind of all have a similar quality.....I've been playing for years and years but have never used much of those effects. Now I'm wanting to add them to my playing style...any suggestions would be helpful..........peace
Your amp tech/repair guy can easily make the voltage controller pedal for one of these out of an old dead cry baby wah. I had one made for mine....it is basically set up like a "balance" potentiometer, that's all I know about the technical stuff, but for about $20 worth of parts you can have a controller pedal for it....the original ones are all but impossible to find these days, and the controller pedal is one of the things that makes these so versatile and special...
Have you tried vintage pedals? Most modern guitar players wouldnt be satisfied with them at all.. they are very different and much more primitive then modern pedals.
Somebody gave me one of the '79 models, had no idea how desireable these are. Mine is working a little fuzzy but I am definitely gonna have to get it working properly after seeing so many cool vids on it.
But the brand new reissue are more expensive about $250, the old vintage you can find them about $150.....

original sounds warmer and more organic too me, new one sounds hyped and way too pronounced.

Original sounds "chewier" (and thus more desirable).

what power supply are you using for the 79 model, I have one and I'm scared to death to sue/buy the wrong supply? Thanks

@bwork65 The original one has the power supply internal. Just a AC cord comes out of the unit
