  • what grips are they using

  • lol i don't even know why i'm watching this cuz i do tramp and tumble :P

  • I honestly don't know why you put those apologies in front of your videos!! Your gymnasts have perfect form, better than anyone I have ever seen, it's hard to believe they're still learning these skills! But thank you, this was very helpful(: And could you please make some on beam skills (cart wheels, 1/4 turn dismounts) That would be amazinggggg!!(: Thank you soooo much

  • @TheTaliBean They're not "apologies" so much as "disclaimers" and I only put them there because the internet is full of very rude people with nothing better to do than rip on kids. True, the disclaimers might not stop rude people from being rude, but I figured I'd at least make an effort to dissuade them first. As for making beam videos, I'm not much of a beam coach, and I appreciate the requests and I do give consideration to all the requests I get, so I'll just say "I'll see what I can do." tx

  • Do you ever come across the problem of gymnasts jumping to the bar with slack in their shoulders or reaching past the bar and sort of catching (which with the slack in their shoulders causes a sort of "dumping")?I

I never really had this problem till this gym or didn't see it. Moreso, I'm looking at other ways to correct besides using an opposed grip and having them relearn jump to the bar while holding the bar versus jumping off a board.

  • Exellent brother, thanks for sharing!!!

  • You're not talking about the Instructor Tom down at a Gymnast place in Northern Kentucky in the Special Thanks in the video are you?

  • @SilentDiablo No.

  • gosh you focus so much on form that when they get their kips, they will be GORGEOUS :O good job!! :)

  • I am gonna practice these drills and thank you for the video!! I think it'll help me with my kips better:)

  • These drills are such a great help! (:

  • Thank you! This is a great process to begin kippng and i'm going to use them on my level 4's, 5's AND 6's!! I think going back to basics will fix their form! Do you happen to have a video for baby giants??

  • great stuff. My daughter is a level 3 right now and doesn't have to do kips yet but next level she will need to do the glide. I've been watching level 5's struggling to get their kips in our gym. I'll save these to faves and let my daughter watch it! Thank you!

  • I too have heavier gymnasts and would like ideas for helping them rather than the exhaustive spotting

  • thanks a lot... these tips are so useful!

  • wow there awsome. and i had to learn a kip after i made team. there very good how old are the??

  • wow there awsome. and i had to learn a kip after i made team. there very good

  • 'other' drills ?!

These are the best drills !!

You guys did an awesome job.

    Beautiful music too !

I'm gonna' be giddy for days !

  • love these videos!

  • Is that a carpet square you used so the gymnasts could slide on the mat while working on glide swings?

  • @LTGYM2004 I've used carpet squares in the past, but they're not quite as smooth as I'd like. In the video it's just a piece of laminated paper, it slides without being "slippery."

  • @JAOVideos Cheap frisbees from the dollar store work well, too.

  • @JAOVideos Furniture sliders also work extremely well.

  • 3:54......i think im going 2 try this......i want to get my kip....im having diffuculties and it sounds interesting

  • @RoxGymnastics lolz o and um do you know where i can get a white heavy tube thing like that?

  • @RoxGymnastics

It's 1.25" (or maybe 1.5" I forget exactly) PVC pipe. It's available at any hardware store. You can probably get a length of 10 feet for about $5 or so, and it's roughly the same diameter of the uneven bar, which is why I like it. Thanks.

  • I will spot everyone. However do you have any tips for teaching girls who weigh more and are bigger (taller) than me? I'm a little coach only 5'0 and although I put my all into these girls, I become more exhausted spotting them over and over then they are! Have them do more drills?

  • @dark00dreams

    I'll shoot you an email.

  • @JAOVideos I have the same question as him! Are there any tips for teaching bigger girls?

  • Explosions in the Sky again!!! Are you a fan of the band or the Friday Night Lights movie? Or both?

These videos have been super helpful! Thanks for the ideas!

  • @flippygirl03

Fan of the band, fan of (the first season of) Friday Night Lights (and the movie), and I don't use music with words in it b/c the message of the lyrics won't be in agreement with the message of the videos.

  • i think they have a great future in gymnastics..

  • who is this?

    the music that is?

sounds like "Explosions in the sky"

    or maybe "Radio head"

    please let me know.

  • I've been looking for this!! YOUR AWESOME! Oh and the girls too!

  • hi where did you coach this?

  • This is great and really helpful! Thanks!

  • Nice video. This is the best video I found and it's good for beginner.

I have some questions I hope you can tell me.Thanks. My English is not good so I may talk the bad manner of speaking .hope you won't mind it.

Are you the coach in the video?

Why didn't you show us how to do the kip.

And I was wondering what is the gymnasts training level.thanks for answering.

And I download the video because in this way I can watch it whenever I want.If you want me to delete it, just tell me.

  • what is that called????????

  • What is what called?

  • wow well done!!

  • Thank you. The girls say thanks as well.

  • wow great lessons..!! thanks this really help me one question how i do a backhandspring can you make a video plis thnks cya..!! love your videos bye :P

  • 1:16 is how it is for me on a regular bar.

This was very helpful, thank you :)

  • the thing wif my kip is i can do all that but i cant pull myself up onto the bar so im in front support any tips?

  • Without seeing your attempt I can't give you specific advice, but generally speaking, if you can truly do all the conditioning in this video and part 1, in the right shapes and consistently, then it will just be a matter of timing and time. Don't be tempted to bend your elbows and fall on your gut just to make it up, or you'll be trying to fix that forever. Keep practicing perfect shapes and conditioning, regularly, and be patient. Be very patient.

  • lolz, thanx 4 da advice and i will ATTEMPTED to be patient, (not one of my many skills) lolz

    love this vid xx

  • that's cool! I wish we could see the little girl do a real kip at the end of the video!

  • I wonder who invented the kip. It's such a tricky move!

  • Fantastic video lessons. Wish I was still coaching so I could implement these drills!
