I honestly don't know why you put those apologies in front of your videos!! Your gymnasts have perfect form, better than anyone I have ever seen, it's hard to believe they're still learning these skills! But thank you, this was very helpful(: And could you please make some on beam skills (cart wheels, 1/4 turn dismounts) That would be amazinggggg!!(: Thank you soooo much
@TheTaliBean They're not "apologies" so much as "disclaimers" and I only put them there because the internet is full of very rude people with nothing better to do than rip on kids. True, the disclaimers might not stop rude people from being rude, but I figured I'd at least make an effort to dissuade them first. As for making beam videos, I'm not much of a beam coach, and I appreciate the requests and I do give consideration to all the requests I get, so I'll just say "I'll see what I can do." tx
Do you ever come across the problem of gymnasts jumping to the bar with slack in their shoulders or reaching past the bar and sort of catching (which with the slack in their shoulders causes a sort of "dumping")?I
I never really had this problem till this gym or didn't see it. Moreso, I'm looking at other ways to correct besides using an opposed grip and having them relearn jump to the bar while holding the bar versus jumping off a board.
Thank you! This is a great process to begin kippng and i'm going to use them on my level 4's, 5's AND 6's!! I think going back to basics will fix their form! Do you happen to have a video for baby giants??
great stuff. My daughter is a level 3 right now and doesn't have to do kips yet but next level she will need to do the glide. I've been watching level 5's struggling to get their kips in our gym. I'll save these to faves and let my daughter watch it! Thank you!
@LTGYM2004 I've used carpet squares in the past, but they're not quite as smooth as I'd like. In the video it's just a piece of laminated paper, it slides without being "slippery."
It's 1.25" (or maybe 1.5" I forget exactly) PVC pipe. It's available at any hardware store. You can probably get a length of 10 feet for about $5 or so, and it's roughly the same diameter of the uneven bar, which is why I like it. Thanks.
I will spot everyone. However do you have any tips for teaching girls who weigh more and are bigger (taller) than me? I'm a little coach only 5'0 and although I put my all into these girls, I become more exhausted spotting them over and over then they are! Have them do more drills?
@JAOVideos I have a similar issue to dark00dreams. However, in addition to being petite, I also coach a lot of boys who are very strong (meaning very heavy). As such I have a hard time making their motion as slow as I would like it to be in order to fix all their shapes. Any recommendations?
Fan of the band, fan of (the first season of) Friday Night Lights (and the movie), and I don't use music with words in it b/c the message of the lyrics won't be in agreement with the message of the videos.
wow great lessons..!! thanks this really help me one question how i do a backhandspring can you make a video plis thnks cya..!! love your videos bye :P
Without seeing your attempt I can't give you specific advice, but generally speaking, if you can truly do all the conditioning in this video and part 1, in the right shapes and consistently, then it will just be a matter of timing and time. Don't be tempted to bend your elbows and fall on your gut just to make it up, or you'll be trying to fix that forever. Keep practicing perfect shapes and conditioning, regularly, and be patient. Be very patient.
what grips are they using

Is that a carpet square you used so the gymnasts could slide on the mat while working on glide swings?

I have some questions I hope you can tell me.Thanks. My English is not good so I may talk the bad manner of speaking .hope you won't mind it.
Are you the coach in the video?
Why didn't you show us how to do the kip.
And I was wondering what is the gymnasts training level.thanks for answering.
And I download the video because in this way I can watch it whenever I want.If you want me to delete it, just tell me.
