If Hollywood is gonna remake classics like this, they should at least leave Kiefer Sutherland and Kevin Bacon alone. These guys don't deserve to have some of their best movies remade so the modern film industry can make a quick buck! I say we protest the remake of Flatliners before it's too late! It was already too late for Footloose, which is now doomed, so let's at least save Flatliners! Thumbs up if you're with me!

This movie had the potential to be great but the script fell apart in the 2nd act. Hollywood, with all of it's new ideas (ha-ha) has decided to remake this movie. Hopefully they get it right this time because there are so many interesting twists they could take with NDE's (Near Death Experiences) if only they had the guts to implement them into the story. My guess is they won't because it's no longer about storytelling and suspense -- only about CGI and 3D to feed the corporate money machine.

Just watched it on Netflix, and it was an excellent thriller! Superb cast and guaranteed to keep you at the edge of your seat...worth crossing the line ;-)

I remember watching this movie when I was 17 and bawling my eyes out at the end. There's a scene where Kiefer (I think) meets a boy in the afterlife that he taunted and who was killed accidentally as a result. The kid forgives him and runs away happily with his dog.

I enjoyed this movie I thought it was great espically with keifer sutherland and kevin bacon they were both attractive but the movie left me hanging I know that Kevin Bacon said sorry to the black girl he made fun of in school and Juila Roberts forgave her dad for doing drugs and Keifer finally went through what he did to Billy Mahoney and he forgave him but what happened to Joe. his girlfriend broke up with him for the sex tapes. did the women forgive him? is he still haunted? i don't know lol

@tummielvr The Production designer has just taken a liberty to crank up the gothic visuals, and laid this building out like this. i'd say its a remodeling of an old med building on a Big Uni campus, during a vacation [or not]. It's hignly improbable that such a space, uninterrupted, would be the privilege to use, of a group of students; but Joel Schumacher decreed that he wanted it this way, and fair dues, its a winner of a film because of this.
