I am so thrilled to find this video!! It is exactly what I have been looking for! I was very recently diagnosed with PCOS and feeling completely overwhelmed trying to find a diet that would support weight loss with Metformin. I have struggled so much with my weight and TTC for almost 5 years (among other things) which now makes perfect sense after learning more about the syndrome! Planning on beginning this tomorrow morning!! Congratulations on your sweet little addition!!

thank you for making this video. my wife and i are currently struggling with infertility. we just found out the negative results from our first IVF cycle the other day. this information you've provided is invaluable. thank you for putting your personal business on here so that people like my wife and i can learn and research. we're going to start this low amylose diet tonight!
@Goat5611 I'm so sorry! Does your wife have PCOS? If so, I highly recommend this. My RE is the best of the best and we went to him because of his IVF success rates. Instead he had me try this diet and we were pregnant within 4 months after TTCing for 3 1/2 years. Wishing you all the best, and let me know if you have any questions!
Thanks so much for your video :) I would love to use it on my website trying - to - conceive - a - baby dot com (no gaps between hyphens) if that's ok? :) Kristy
@KRJC4eva ps - i've been trying for nearly 3 years and married for coming up 5 - i think it's my diet where i've gone wrong the whole way along... i'm a big takeaway junkie, even though i am physically fit... we have had a similar infertility journey to you.
One more question.. Is there any sort of carby/bready sub? I know some people doing low carb use those low carb wraps.. but they have wheat still I think.
@silverose1209 I never found one. I would do tortillas or sometimes low carb wraps, but you have to watch. Sometimes the "low carb" weren't even any lower than the regular, and sometimes they had more sugar. If I were to eat a wrap, I would stick to ONE during the meal and not beat myself up about it. I think the goal is under 15 carbs per day, but I would have to watch my videos and read up. I've forgotten some of those kinds of details since it's been a while!
I asked you about this on PeskyPCOS's video.. But found it on my own! LOL. I do hope that you will do some more videos on this diet. I looked it up but not nearly as much info as on other diets.. Seems pretty much low carb... But you can have fruit as long as its not bananas?
@silverose1209 I will definitely start the videos as soon as I am recovered from my D&C. I am ready to get back on track and I'd like to also lose a few pounds, so this is a great diet for that. Correct-very low carb, no sugar. Any fruit except bananas. Any veggie except underground veggies and corn.
@SubfertileFrugalista Hate to bother you again but I am really intrigued by this.. Do you know of a wbook or website with some more in depth info on this diet. I cant seem to find much on Google. Some questions I have though of so far.. Is honey allowed? Are the proteins to be lean? Did your Dr give you a brochure or anything? I am so curious because I always felt that low carb with fruit allowed would be perfect for me.
@silverose1209 Not a bother at all. Unfortunately, there are no books that I was able to find at the time. I just lived by the rules (they are posted below the video) and had them printed out and on my fridge. I don't know if honey is technically "allowed," but I will say that Josh used it when making a dessert recipe for me. I am not a huge honey fan, but I used it once in a while. Proteins, I don't think lean or not matters. If you PM me your email I can send you the link to my RE's website.
@nagiorge No, bananas don't grow underground. I'm not sure exactly why they're on the list, but they definitely are. Maybe because of the starches/carbs? Not sure...
@SubfertileFrugalista Carbs!!!! You must be correct. I find it hard to give them up since they are so sweet and yummy but I do not want to jeopardize my efforts. Anyways, I need a diet makeover to help me balance my blood sugars. Thanks for the helpful posts.
I ran out of characters but I would love to connect with others who have tryed and chanded to this diet. just for questions and suppourt.. Email me Kim.Parker1025@gmail.com
I <3 this video and thanks for sharing the info. Its similiar to what my doctor told me she just said nothing white or fried. I did good for about 3 weeks then fell off but my goal is to get bk on it asap. I as most am a very picky eater as well!! But Im going to TRY making meal plans and ideas to follow I find that helps me.I was however eating packaged oatmeal (ez) &sugary items just under my cal intake. so that info is helpful. I also went to whole wheat breads and got burnt out on eggs.
@KPARKER1025 Feel free to let me know if you have specific questions! Also, if you're on Pinterest, I have a board on there with all sorts of fun recipes that work with the diet. I'm getting ready to start it again, too. I've GOT to get back on track, I've been horrible this fall!!
@malignantexodus Thanks for watching! I'm actually not sure. I have never had to deal with that symptom, so I couldn't speak for sure. However, I would imagine that taking met would help since it does a great job of leveling out hormones, which I would guess to be part of the cause of excess hair. That's a great question, I'll let you know if I find anything out.
@Launderlife Thank you! I'm a believer, too. For me, it's almost day to day, or even meal to meal sometimes. You have to plan ahead, be prepared for times when you get really hungry and definitely get creative. But it's totally doable!
@Alicenjohnny09 you're very welcome. i just saw on your channel that you're working on regulating things with your pcos. let me know if you decide to try this and if i can help in any way!
I'm glad you made this video! It's been in the back of my mind especially since my hubby wants to avoid meds(he is freaked about multiples, well I am too haha). The bad thing is that the majority of what I eat is a no no on this diet. I'm a horrible picky eator so it will take a lot for me to stick to it. I would enjoy some snipets of meals like you said. How do you measure how much protein your getting? Do you use a website to reference?
@jollyjess6 I don't really measure anything. Basically, I stick to no carbs, no sugar. I feel like if I can do that, everything else will fall into place. It isn't easy, but it is amazing how effective it is! Girl, get on board...I want to be pregnant with you!
I was infertile for years and never knew why. I have PCOS but never found until i was pregnant with my 2cd baby. I had gest diabetes and had to see an endocrinologist and that's how I found out. coincidentally I went on the south beach diet before both my pregnancies and I really feel that's why I got pregnant! I didn't take metformin though. Did you eat yogurt and milk on this diet?
@elisam34 I think it probably IS why you got pregnant! It's amazing how intertwined it all is. I mean, we know it's all connected but I fought the whole "diet will help you get pg" thing for a long time...but it worked! I know that feeling, I didn't get a dx until a full year into treatments with my 1st RE. He knew I had PCOS all along but never told me so I thought I was dealing with undiagnosed IF. I don't eat yogurt (too much sugar, according to Dr. Miracles) but I do drink milk.
