Really depends on your budget. The blackstar HT range are excellent all round value at the moment. Having said that, if you want to do it right - a Mesa Boogie Dual or Triple Rectifier should get you quite close to the tone you are after.

@PizzaBlade17 Really hard question to answer in many ways as all those guitars are so different. What I can say is that the build quality on the schecter is fabulous and easily on par with other brands at the same price point....and if you want to make a statement and stand out on stage - then the Schecter is the obvious choice.

@paigeguitarplayer The pickups DONT DO anything when unplugged? They are microphones that output the sound to an amplifier. Obviously the guitar doesn't have an amp when unplugged, so the microphones dont do anything.

@coping34343 hmmm i think it does. cuz ive played this guitar without an amp. and it was pretty loud. so im pretty sure the pickups contribute to that. unless im mistaken and it has something to do with the body or the neck. and the pickups on my peavy only have medium output and its not very loud when not plugged in. but i dont really know much about pickups and electronics with guitars. so yeah its just something that i noticed.

@TheRevDeathbat Yes. As far as I know, they are doing the Standard and Custom with pimp stripes ongoing. I've heard a rumour they are going to do another limited colour. The Special and Deluxe models are really a way of getting a great Syn guitar without it necessarily screaming syn gates at you - a bit more reserved, and not quite as expensive. Pimp stripes for me all the way though!!!! ;0)

This is an awesome guitar, but for some reason its not real comfortable for me. The one signature model i found to be the best is Alexi Laiho's ESP, its an overall kickass guitar, except no neck pickup.
