  • this is awesome man, thank you

  • Im a beginner to this, but does this camera have auto focus in video mode?

  • @Ghostrider03Z nope

  • @TheRabbleHouse cant you press half the button to focus? only if u press it fully i know it takes picture..

  • @hristijank2 you can use the auto focus until you start recording, so the auto focus WILL work until you start recording, then you can no longer use auto focus...

  • @TheRabbleHouse oh xD well it still good to have manual focus than no focus on the point and shoots xD

  • @TheRabbleHouse hey there rabblehouse .. i just got my 7d .. what is a good price and very good quality lens to get if im taking food shots or near shots of toys where i wana blur the back ground .. i currenly have a 18-135

  • @nightubble check out the canon 50mm 1.8 :) about $100, we LOVE it and use it all the time

  • @TheRabbleHouse ever tried the 1.4? it has some big advantages oer the 1.8.

  • @AlertaLPs Yes, great lens, I tried the 85mm 1.4 and loved it, but I will stick by my cheap 50mm 1.8 for many reasons. I don't worry about it as much as a 1.4 or even 1.2, and because of that I have done more with it in situations where one would be scrambling to cover their camera instead of getting the shot

  • @TheRabbleHouse @TheRabbleHouse ^^ well the 85mm 1.4 is quite an overkill for my 600D (1.6 crop) The center looks a bit to soft for my taste. But the 50mm x 1.6 = 80mm are just perfect^^ What i like most about the 50mm 1.4: -> Affordable -> 1.4! -> less Color Fringing @ 1.4 than 50mm 1.8 @ 1.8 -> 8 Aperture Blades for a much better Bokeh -> Mini USM motor -> Better Build Quality Sadly i can only use my 1.8 for the next half year. (Had to give my 1.4 away)
  • me like

  • well... ok

  • is part 2 up yert? btw great video

  • Thanks for this. I have this camera and I have no idea how to use it.

  • @WOGI5M glad you liked it! Let us know what else you would like to know and we will try and include it in the next video!

  • @TheRabbleHouse Can you maybe include some basic information on which lens to use in particular situations. I have three lenses and I don't know what the appropriate situation is to use them.

  • @WOGI5M i know to work on this camera with closed eyes and i dont have it :(

  • @WOGI5M you saved my day. your ironic post was making me laught^^

  • Do you have other tutorials. I only see part 1 on YouTube. I can't find part 2 and so on. Great tutorial by the way.

  • @krazy4baja part 2 is on the way, I promise! We have been wrapped up with making a feature and some other tutorials so we havn't quite been able to post as often as we would like :( but part 2 and more tutorials are on their way soon!

  • thanks for the reply and yes i just order my tamron 17-50mm and hopefully it will work for me. thanks again for your help.

  • Hi, im more into video making and my Qs: is what do you recomend for lens? My subjects will fast miving cars, skate boarders and rc cars and I'll be using after effects for some slowmo action. Pla reply thanks for your tutorial.

  • @KITKNUCLES you are describing several situations where you need a variety of lenses. And it depends on how much you have to spend too. A good overall lens is a zoom, something that goes rather wide (18mm or so) to rather telephoto (135mm or so) This is the kit lens that comes with the 7D. My personal lens kit goes from about 3mm (fisheye) all the way to 300mm. And then I have the 50mm 1.8 lens, which is a great lens. All of this cost me about $300, minus the kit lens I got.

  • @KITKNUCLES So to answer your question, get yourself a variety of lenses to cover the bases, so you will be prepared no matter what situation you run into. If you have the money, get lenses that have a low F-stop. And if you really have the money get yourself a set of primes. If not, get a good zoom or two :)

  • worth every seconds watching your tutorial...I've learned a lot with in 5:37 time. Thanks you.

  • good but need now part 2.lol

  • part 2 please :D I like the way you explain it :)

  • thanks for the video. i'm getting better with this cam ^.^

  • yea, i finally learned something. come out with more on the 7d asap!

  • you're good at making tutorials. Voice quality not boring and not too over exaggerating either. Where's part two sir?

  • @jbm03 I have been busy filming a feature film :) More tutorials are on their way for both this camera and filmmaking in general. Glad you liked it!

  • how do i get the footage off of this cam

  • @BustG there are two ways of doing this.

First is by installing the provided software onto your computer, then using the provided usb cable and attaching it to your computer. Open up the EOS Utility Application and select the clips you want to download (usually its all of them).

The second way is to use an external card reader insert the card into there. It will mount on your computer like an external harddrive. Hope this helps!

  • mine says 1280x720 at 50. not 60. why?

  • @traiano that means you are shooting in PAL, not NTSC. Look at 2:05 for changing your video system. I was shooting in NTSC.

  • Great tutorial...!
