Also, Dr. King didn't originally want the children to take part in the Birmingham because he didn't want them to get hurt/die. On D-day children poured out of schools towards Sixteenth Street Baptist Church (right across from the Kelly Ingram Park), the meeting place. They sent children out in groups of 50, so that the police officer and the Safety Commissioner "Bull" Conner (ironic job, no?) thought that it'd be easy to round up some of kids. Boy was he wrong. Good job! You deserve the award!
