Super job , good quality, I am trying to play it but I have a backing track from Goran ,I think it is not the best, where can I find your BT, thank a lot ,your video is excellent to learn guitar.
This is a great cover - great sound - fabulous (as usual). But i do have a question about your fingering......I would have thought you would use your second finger to start - not your index finger and play it in that position. (since it leaves you in position for the chords) Is there a reason why you play it this way?
I always loved the classics. Always imagining myself playing the guitar. "Air guitar", that is. I never played guitar. But in the back of mind there is an urge to go buy an electric guitar and start learning from scratch. Should I buy an acoustic or electric guitar to start? How much is a new one?
@norjop I would go find yourself a guitar that feels comfortable eather acoustic or electric. I know you can find good used guitars at your local pawn stores. Usally there a little cheaper than buying one new. Learning the basic chords is pretty easy.
I just love this rendition , Im just a hobby guitarist play now and then, play more piano than guitar. Your version just inspired me again to pick up my axe. Have a son who is an accomlished digital musician and just e mailed him to create a cd for me to play along with similar to what you are doing. Fantastic job loved it you are by no means an amateur.
This is serious top quality stuff. You are settin' new standards. It's this kind of music that brought me to California 28 years ago. Unfortunately, too many of the wrong folks moved here after the 60's and the lost dream in mostly in the music, now.
One of my all time favorite songs. We played it many years ago in our Rock n Roll band. By watching your fingers I picked up a few things I was doing wrong. What do you use to "pre-record" the bass, rthym, drums, etc.? I have a Boss recorder but I think some type of software would be better??
Great, thanks for doing some Ventures. I should have known you'd do some of their songs. I requested Ventures on another song. Great Great playing!!! Love the old Ventures twang. What kind of guitars did they use? Fender?
I like reading the comments of people who want to know how you make all this happen. Though I'm quite ignorant of all this, it seems from your feedback that modern technology has made all this childsplay. Main ingredient, one guitar player.
Thank you very much. I have to agree with Norm, you are quite inspiring. So what sort of software do you use to lay down the backing and what about the drums? I will check out the Line 6 Gearbox Gold, are they current? Max.
@Corowawhiskyman - If you're referring to the rhythm guitar in the left channel it is pre-recorded. If you're referring to the slapback or echo, it is an effect. I play through Line 6 Gearbox Gold.
Outstanding version of one of the greatest instrumental guitar records of all time. Your songs are all top notch. Your videos are very unique in that all the viewer sees is your guitar and your hands playing. Very creative and visually appealing to those that want to learn a new song. Keep up the great work. You are very inspirational to a lot of us amateur guitarists.....Norm
I remember when I first started playing guitar, my grandpa showed me his old record collection, this caught my eye, so my grandparents busted out the turntable and played it for me. This was the first song I learned how to play all the way through.
This a a great version. Is there any chance that you might have the tabs for Walk don't Run? I'm just getting started and have difficulty following along. Thanks.
That was awesome! Why didn't you do the intro chords though? Not that I can really say anything, cuz I never really play them either, but you could have! This was good! =D
Born in '55. I guess when you get to be our age, the grim reaper is approaching your door, and more people go. I didn't mean to hurt your feelings. I appreciate your selection of songs to pay homage to. Wasn't a judegement call, just an assumption. Please excuse my indescression.
You pretty well got the feel down for that song, kiddo. Even more impressive, because I'm pretty sure you weren't old enough to experience the song when it was released, like me. I love The Ventures, and all beach music. Good job! thanks!
Incredible version> I need too look for some vintage hots for the strat. You should consider doing Hawaii five o. Very cool! Keep up the incredible work.
Vintage Hots. I use a Line 6 Gearbox on most of my videos. The patch I made has some slapback. Most people pour the reverb on to play this song. If you listen to the original recording by The Ventures, it is slapback - quick delay.
what effects do you use
