I LOVE this track... it has that innepsychological punk destructiveness that you dont hear to often these days, but a lot of people go through these kind of thoughts and emotions just the way they put... its fucking awesom...
@metallidethN9ne Ce n'est pas le meilleur, mais a mon gout c'est le plus "puissant", le plus grandiose, des paroles forte, agréssive sans ètre négative, des riff de guitare magnifiqque, ect
What I understand of this song, and think myself is that this song actually is about James's drinking problem. For many alcholics they can't say no.. This might be James's rehab song...
But anyways, this is another side of Metallica we will never get to see in full daylight
what people dont realize is that the addiction to food and over eating can be just as bad as drugs and booze. this song helped someone i know lose 40 pounds!
This song is freakin' insane. Raw, vicious, in your face!!! I like it... They should do this song live. As some kind of intro to the encore or something.
i do agree that load reload and st anger are not their best albums but i still like them. Bands cant stay stagnant throughout their entire career it would be boring for us and especially for them as musicians
@cashandguns i agree a thrash record in '96 would have made them rundundant by now. Death Magnetic wouldn't have been as popular and people would have been burnt out.
haha your right i know exactly nothing about metallica... they definitely didnt start off with the name alchoholica and played music to get drunk and have fun thrashing about. trust me, im sure you dont know anything about metallica...
1991-2009 was a hard period for metallica where their style changed and the band almost broke up and i love ALL of their albums but just because you dont like dont come here and say its NOT metallica wtf is wrong with you
I remember watching SKOM and thinking this was great, it's so raw and emotional, you can tell Hetfield is just emotionally and physically shattered from his voice. It would have made a great track.
I noticed this track from the first time I saw the documentary I was so pissed it didn't make it on the album. this would've been Metallica going darker, creepier..!
This is how St. Anger should have sounded. This came straight from Hetfield. It's raw, it's powerful. When you let Kirk, Lars, and some tool of a psychologist start writing lyrics, it all turns to shit. Bob Rock's production certainly didn't help matters either.
This was what James wrote after rehab, this song just, flushed out of him in one piece, the reason it didin't make it to St. Anger was because it wasn't in-fitting with the rest of the songs, like Lars doesnt have his unique snare in this one, the guitars sound like in I Dissapear, and his vocals belong on Garage Inc.
i feel bad for the people who cant appreciate this song for its deeper meaning. james wrote this song while in the midst of great addiction. if any of you have been there, you can understand.
Dunno, some songs on St. Anger are amazingly fucking awesome (St. Anger, Frantic, SKOM, Sweet Amber, etc.) but parts like this make it the worst Metallica album. And no solos, of course.
the emotion, what a gay. if the music isnt important then you should go read some poetry. this song is crap. the music is shit, vocals are out of tune and the lyrics are a weak attempt from someone like james. what made st anger was far better. and its great to see brilliant music singing lyrics and drumming on death magnetic
that song may be not really good musically (but you must consider that this was just the very first idea for it),but james really let all his feelings about his alcohol abuse out in it,so don't mock it
This is actually really nice. It sounds so nice altough its a Demo, i wish that they would take som more time on it and realease a single with this song on it. Its a intresting song no doubt!
hey no pueden meterle la parte del some kind of monster documental en donde se hace la semblanza de la vida de james hetfield??? estaria mejor eh!! gracias y..
This is a kick-ass song. This, "DK Rolls", and "Shadows of the Cross" definately should have been on St Anger. I hope we see some of that shit on the new album
This song should have replaced shoot me again FOR SURE or all within my hands. I love Metallica as I love St. Anger. It isn't AS good as the other stuff because like everyone else, I fuckin LOVE Master of Puppets, ..And Justice, and the Black Album.
