  • @joshtheused not in headsup, when u headsup K10 and A9 are both enough to call people down preflop, so raising is 99% out of the question but probably this is one reason u r a losing poker player :)

  • I love how it ended up being phil laak vs. esfandiari.... HAHAHAHA what if me and my best friend were HU at the final table? The dealer would probably get hit by a misfired shoe

  • I was like O.o when Laak guessed his cards perfectly on first guess

  • Esfandiari is always asking players to show their cards, but I've yet to see him do the same. what a nit.

  • @Tehui1974

thats not really being a nit, thats trying to get additional information while not giving any, which is a pretty good skill to have in poker..

  • @dd1yr Yep, I do it all the time. LMAO

  • @johnsmith7490 no, you should be banned you sad cunt. are you just a thumbs up whore or what? its fucking pathetic

  • @anthonypowell99

  • Tired of this rigged site taking my money. How come when I play webcam poker on pokerview I actually winning for a change?

  • @qmiq Laak actually helped Esfandiari get into the poker world. When esfandiari first decided to hit vegas as a professional poker player he didn't do so well until Laak starting helping him out. Might have to do something with it.

  • @AndrewsShort Antonio actually invited Laak from his job on the markets in NYC to come play poker.....he mentions that in a High Stakes Poker interview....they are good buddies though

  • why are they playing heads up??

  • Phil calls Antonio Kid alll the time I wonder if Antonio ever gets annoyed at that.

  • @colmore5585

Ok man... I can spare 30 bucks my full tilt name is mulec9807 :)

  • LOL antonio's real swallow

  • sometimes I think the cards back is symboled uv-colour you can only see through special glasses.

  • that was good.

  • @gorgeousgeorge23 You obviously don't know what being dominated in poker is do you? It was a great read and laydown because Antonio had Phil dominated with K 10. They share the same high card but Antonio has a better kicker. Boy would I love to see you lose your bankroll in 2 seconds.. thats if you even have one.

  • It would be an impressive read if Laak and Antonio weren't best friends who play together all the time.

  • they are best friends! they practically bath sleep eat together. hell they don't no about each others cards, bet they can even call on the other's color suited underwears

  • That's so gross. I've only done that like twice, and I have to know my opponent really, really well. Oh, and when I did it, I had much more to go on than ONE preflop re-raise making it much easier to do.

  • "how much u wanna bet it's a ten," lol these fucking gamblers mayn

  • this is awesome

  • Love both of them, great players. But they are so good friends they know each others play.

  • Those two know each other's game so well. Nice read

  • its so nice to watch these two gifted players

  • @proudfoot25 I agree that they're both brilliant players, and two of my favorite players but what makes it so much more interesting is that they're great friends off the table and know each others games so well.

  • thats not a read just a sick guess

  • @doognadoshi agreed

  • @doognadoshi obviously not

  • @joshtheused A simple reraise would have been a terrible play. Both guys knew that Laak was trying to win the blinds with the first raise. A 4-bet would have smelled WAY fishy, and I think Esfandiari would have simply pushed allin over the top of the 4-bet, and Laak would have had to lay down anyway.

  • @kevinbailey1974 laak would have committed himself if he 4-bet. there's no way antonio is coming over the top

  • @joshtheused Of course, they're both great players. However, a "read" is nothing more than a "best guess based on information available." What caused him to settle on the "K10, A9" read was not the 3-bet, but the overbet. He could tell Esfandiari didn't WANT a call, but he (correctly) figured out that he was most likely beaten by a similarly middling, but SLIGHTLY better hand. His read was perfect, given the information with which he was presented.

  • @joshtheused It was a fantastic read, but it doesn't surprise me at all that you don't understand why. You've clearly no concept of preflop betting patterns, and how well these two know each other. He wasn't confused, but made an educated assessment that Antonio had him at LEAST beaten, and possibly dominated (his "K10, A9" analysis). Knowing this, he laid down, unwilling to fight postflop in a situation where he might well be either dominated or simply outplayed (Esfandiari is a STOUT player).

  • these two have been playing with eachother for too much

  • i think phil put esfandiari on pocket kings, not a better king.

  • nothing,i just cant be arsed arguing with you.

  • its just a comment expressing my views, get over it mate.

  • i meant he could have raised him off it

  • Hesitation, large bet size = hand that is vulnerable yet probably is best at the moment

  • @sk8rdaniel why don't you stick with skating and leave this to the pro's

  • they know each other very well, and it is a nice read, but laak calls hands of other players all the time...

  • phil laak is amazing

  • I love how Phil analyzes the hand perfectly, these two players know each other so well and play very well especially against each other!

  • @PlayaplayaAP some people call phil a nit or a degenerate but once he is serious and analyzes things out...he is very very good. He pays alot of attention which makes him very dangerous

  • Is that based on experience or just knowing his opponent? Thats sick

  • they probably hang out alot is how he knew...cuz they got that show together so they probably know each other well

  • Look....i love phil but that was a guess! Magician clearly didn't want him to see a flop! but that could of been any number of hands held that have potential but are glad to take it pre-flop...

  • eh, there was definately some guessing in there, but you have to know that hes played thousands of hands with Antonio and probably knows his playing style to a tee.

  • @Drewski0411

No, it's not as much of a guess as some of you may think, and I think that even someone who doesn't play all the time with Antonio could have made that read. The reason Phil Laak put him on KT or A9 is the way antonio put his chips in, stalled, even brushed up and down his stack. These are all tells of hesitation, meaning that Antonio wanted to bet but he definitely knew the limitations of his hand. If Laak had trusted his read and pushed, he would have won preflop

  • then why the fuck does it HAVE to be KT and not K9 or A8 or something. it was a lucky guess. you dont know anything about real poker and ranges all you know is what you see on tv.

  • @lordaeron86

I said KT or A9, or somewhere in that general range. I'm not going to sit here and list every single combination of hole cards, KT K9 K8 K7 A9 A8....

    moron..

  • well , i like poker but i have no money ))

  • then play free tournaments, like i do

  • freerolls its not poker ))

  • @RapLiFeGsTyLE911 so you mean TOC is not poker?

  • @RapLiFeGsTyLE911 Ofcoursed it is, but you have to be very consider to win :D And you have to be sure by that, who you want to bluffing there :D It is may harder then WSOP :D Play freerolls :D

  • @DukeBalaor yea lol years passed still play thys shywt

  • hahahha wow.

  • kevinbailey thats right very good comment ;)

  • It's not a guess, it's a read.. He wouldn't be saying we'll see when we watch on tv..

  • Notice how Laak said, "If that doesn't look so fishy" as SOON as Antonio pushed in the 13.4K. That's the key to my previous analysis.

  • I'll educate those of you who think this wasn't a "read." Laak wasn't just guessing--though there's an ELEMENT of guessing involved. He (Laak) made a pretty big raise to 3400, looking to just pick up the blinds and antes (1200) preflop. Antonio came over the top BIG, popping 10,000 to 13,400. This indicates Antonio doesn't WANT a call, but has SOMETHING. Laak went through the options in his head that he would do that with, and came up with K10 or A9, settling on K10. He was right--and brilliant.

  • @kevinbailey1974 if he knew he didnt have a big he would have went allin........guesswork or as these two are friends antonio probs said "if i raise too big say to the cameras k 10" so he looks good coz every1 knows hes a bad player

  • @tommy444able shut up, you are talking shit... how much money have you made in poker? how much has phil laak made?

laak is no durrrr or phil ivey but this is a great read

  • @3StevieD bollox

  • @3StevieD ted forrest , doyle brunson and gabe kaplan gangraped your mum at a saloon in texas.......it was soooo sick

  • @kevinbailey1974 shut up fish... ur a dummyy

  • @midus320 Congratulations! You've just won the "Lamest Reply to a Serious Poker Comment Prize."

  • @kevinbailey1974 Its amazing how some idiots can talk that quantity of shit on you tube...this kevin thinks he is a god of poker...jajajaja.... somebody pleeeease !!! take him down from his cloud now!... a lot of garbage in only 10 lines...jajaja...my god....

  • @defton32 I note that you make no actual poker points at all. "Idiot" this, and "shit" that. "God of poker", and "Jajajaja". If you have a point to make, make it. Point out where I'm wrong, If not, why post?

  • @kevinbailey1974 ....laak was right but far from brilliant......when someone reraises me like that and I feel they have a hand like that, I pop them back for 40,000 more!

  • @kevinbailey1974 Wow.. thank you for "educating" everyone.

Are you going to lie now and tell everyone you play in casinos and underground home games and play for a living.

or how about that you're a semi pro who plays 5/10 all the time and has been to a casino once in your life.

come to the Borgata and see me. PLEASE educate me... tool.

  • @AwollSGF I notice that you don't even bother to make one actual poker point here. Come back when you actually have something to offer to the discussion.

  • @kevinbailey1974

hey listen, if that was a good read, why doesn´t he raise him back and represent a very big hand??? he folds that hand, cause he was not sure if esfandiari have that what he think or a monster. and dont forget, laak always guess his opponents hands. in someday he makes the right GUESS, not read, of cource!

  • rather a guess

  • laak looks almost prototype (pc game)

  • Eeeemmm.. and you definitely have to have an IQ over 100 to know, that you've just written [IQ LESS THAN 100]...

  • im glad im not the only one spotting that :P

  • 1:52 is the best, you had k 10 didnt you

  • He´s a freakin mind reader! :>

  • se è forte

  • GReat REad MR LAak

  • His great, but that isn't reading, it's guessing..

  • So if someone makes a "read" and is wrong...then what is that called? A bad read? Yea... the so called "read" is an educated guess

  • Idk if you're aware of this but, reading in poker is a term they use when you study your opponents tendensees to make an educated guess of the players range of cards. They don't mean the actual meaning of "reading" a book if that's what you mean. In either case recon1462004 your comment is quite retarded imho.

  • tendencies*

  • With a lot of players. at least below the professional level, you can make an accurate read and pinpoint their hand by observing which hands they like and which hands they bet certain ways. With these players though you can read them even if they try to change it up by their reaction after they look at their hand.

I'm sure you could do this at the professional level if you spent enough time developing observation skills

  • Well he calls his opponents cards in every hand he plays, one of them finally has to be the right one.

  • i love him so much..

    lol

  • lol

  • well they were fond of each other and knows how the other one plays... so it wouldnt be that amazing to have called the other persons cards..

  • Thats sick!

  • really good player. one of the few players who's not ego
