Capitalism doesn't exist in this country. You need a FREE-market to see the true face of capitalism. Nor does capitalism need a moral foundation other than non-violence and respect for property rights. Self-interest fuels everyone in capitalism, and collective self-interest forces everyone to meet in the middle. Hard work, knowledge, and a little bit of luck dictate success in a capitalist system, and ALL these things are variable, ergo capitalism is the fairest economic system.

Mainly, if not solely by govt. The govt has created a situation where the only way to make a profit is through corruption, lobbying, etc. The reason there exists such a large gap between rich and poor is because for govt misery is profitable. The govt grew about 6x since the 1950's.
