The USAAF bombed Hitler's Reich by day and the RAF bombed by night. The USAAF and RAF did more than any other Western Allied services to actually beat Hitler - and they paid a terrible price in lives lost. The USAAF and RAF bomber men - the often forgotten allied heroes of World War 2.

The "experiments" of Harris to bomb a nation into submission failed. Google the "Dresden memo" written by Churchill. He used Harris first and then sacrificed him - for his own career of course. The reactions in the RAF after the Dresden memo tell volumes of the nature of the "dehousing" campaign (see "Bomber Command" by Max Hastings).

She did donate for the rebuildung of the Frauenkirche years later, but she only probably signed a check.
When she was in Dresden, she never made any gesture.

(1) That the poison gas was produced in Dresden,
(2) That it was used in death camps,
(3) that the raid destroyed the factory.
