I think you'll find that the Scottish were the second largest group of immigrants to settle in Canada. The French were the largest.
The Scottish culture is HUGE in Canada. You will find that every Province has a Highland Games and celebrates St. Andrew's Day as well as Tartan Day and Burns Night.
Most Canadian military regiments are named after Scottish regiments. For example, the Black Watch and the 48th Highlanders.
@kingdomofdalriada Yes they are.. more than 60% of all Canadians have decended from Scottish and English, as well as French ancestry. The other 40%, well... They're immigrants and Southern African American.
I once asked my rsm why are bands out front of the redg and not in the middle,It would mean better drill if everyone can hear the drums...he said foolish lad, what if they mined the road...they band stays out front!
so your in the regt eh? I get the hoden gray(or how ever its spelled) kilt, but why a matching tunic, personnally, i dont find it looks so good, no contrast lol!
our original CO, Col Harbottle, chose all Hodden grey because it is a tactical colour that blends in (yes even our DU's are cam). We also adopted it from the London Scottish, our sister regiment in Britain.
