hi ! someone can tell me if we can put the big wheels inside when its close for transportation? sorry my english i am french.. thanks for helping me.. i need to buy but want to know first because its fot big trio with kids in central america! bye bye
The factory swivel wheel doesn't work if you plan on going over 5 mph. I did wrap duct tape on the metal pin to make for a tighter fit, but that only helps when walking. Anybody know where I can get the jogging wheel attachment?
@NotMyNono Thanks. I calling Schwinn and complained a little bit. They knew exactly what I was talking about. The Jogging Wheel cost around the same directly from Schwinn. Like I said, the duct tape fix worked OK for slow walks but a brisk walk- forget about it. The metal rods should have some kind of gasket to keep a tight fit. From factory its just metal on metal. Oh well, we just leave the jogging wheel on now unless we have it hooked up to the bike.
This review by rowdytown2 is the reason I purchased the Joy Rider 2yrs ago, so thanks! It didn't get much use last year and this year tried to use today and I just can't figure out the problem. The front wheel can NOT spin 360 degrees. It hits the bottom of the stroller. So when pushing if wheel spins backward it gets stuck. It never did this before, always worked perfect so no idea what could have happened and its driving me crazy. Schwinn website no help. Anyone have a clue? Thank you!!!
Question...i just bought a bike trailer that cost over $500 that i paid $270 for. Anyhow, I wanted the schwinn but i couldnt find it locally to fit my child in. He is four and 40inches tall. WHAT IS THE LENGTH FROM WHERE MY SONS BOTTOM IS ON THE SEAT TO THE ROOF? His head tops off at almost 22 inches. Before I use what I bought and hunt down the joyrider, can you confirm this distance for me?????please? i have spent HOURs looking at videos and reading and can not figure this out :)
@cldiaz80 my son is 3.5 years. He is 44 inches tall (42 lbs.), even with a bike helmet and sitting on the left side, he still has about 3 - 4 inches of room above is head. If he was the only child in the middle there would be 6 - 7 inches approx. of room above his head. Both of my kids fit very comfortably in this trailer compared to others i have tried.

Check out the user pics on amazon.com to see larger kids in the trailer. Still rides ultra smooth 2 kids adding 72 lbs to the trailer.
Need to show the mount system to the bike. Would it fit a bike with disc rear brakes? With a quick release? Schwinn has TERRIBLE info (if it exists at all) on their website. Thanks for what you provided, just need a little more.
@mykeytea Yes it can be installed on a quick release with disc brakes. All schwinn/instep trailers have the same coupling system, i would look for other vids that show you this better. The coupler is on the outside of the frame on the left of rear wheel (if you are facing forward like when riding), should be positioned straight down.

hi, i hope you know someone that has a costco card (299.99). i had my in-laws order mine on line just waiting for it to come in. Last year costco only had 8 of them, so once i saw that they had more i didn't waste any time.
hope this helps. I saw one in person last summer it will definately be big enough for my 3 yr old who is in the 97th %, he is too big for other brands i have tried them.
Hi, I'm a costo member and have checked with costco.ca and costco.com and neither sell this bike trailer. How long ago did you order this and was it with costco in canada? Perhaps they have already sold out! I'll have to check back again, thanks
@molly4469 the handle comes attached to it, it is not removeable. and the swivel wheel is suposed to come with it, BUT from reviews i have read on amazon.com sometimes it gets shaky, but one review explains how to fix it by taking the wheel off and tightning the bolt that goes up towards the swivel. I plan on checking the tightness before i even use it to avoid the problem all together. & i would recommend sewing velcro on the parent console & wrap around handle bar to avoid it being lost 2.
@Rug7823 I am so excited! I can't thank-you enough for your help!! The shipping is also free so cuts down the price and is the best price anywhere I've seen. The stroller wheel is included I guess your right! And thank-you for your tip on fixing any shaking problem with the stoller wheel. I am ordering this today! Thanks again kind person!!! :))
@molly4469 i would also recommend a skate style helmet or a hockey helmet (i use hockey with my 1y old), easier to find a fit for kids with small heads and under the age of 3y. and it doesn't push their head forward making it uncomfortable while out for a ride. I like costco's price too. Last year sears carried it for awhile but it could stay there for the price tag of 549.99 !! absolutly insane.
@Rug7823 My little one will be 3 this year. I had my daughter in a Schwinn bike trailer last season and although she loved it for the first few blocks she kept getting caught up in the straps and the nylon seat well is just like a sling very uncomfortable. This seat looks so comfortable and so much more room. I'm sure she's going to love it! $549.99 is insane, now your getting up there in price of chariot's and in my opinion they don't look half as comfortable for toddlers as this one! ;)
I've had mine for about 6 months and used it as a trailer with my bike and LOVE it! Most of all my 18 mo old twins love it and is very comfortable for them. I've been using it as a jogger lately and has anyone else had problems with the from wheel? It shakes very bad when running...
@asebastian83 did you buy the jogging wheel? the stroller wheel that comes with it isn't for jogging. i bought one through the manufacturer pacific cycle. they cost about $30-$40.
Has anyone else found that when attached to a bike, it seems to recline... a lot! I'm not sure if I set it up correctly and I can't find anywhere else online that talks about this. I test rode it w/o child to make sure and everything seems good, it just seems oddly tilted IMO.
Is it just me, or does this trailer look unsafe in the event of a roll over or accident??? Other trailers all have bars high up along sides that would preventing crushing of children inside. I am very concerned about the lack of such bars any where on this trailer. I don't think I can feel safe putting my children in it. I just ordered one and I think I will need to send it back.
Nice job demonstrating features, but really would like to see the trailer hooked up and used with the bike. This is the part I am unsure if I have assembled correctly. Thanks.
Fantastic review. Thank You. We are currently in the market for one of these for our two children. This certainly looks impressive and your review has saved us the hassle of having to first find out who stocks it then have to travel a distance to look at it. Living in Brisbane, Australia i'd doubt i'd find a stockist nearby anyhow. Great concept reviewing online. Would be great if you actually conducted a "comparative review" of a few of these type of trailers?
After watching your video, I absolutely knew wich trailer I was going to invest in. This thing has everything, and it is by far the best trailer/stroller out there! I rubbed the little pad off the wheel release but thats the only complaint I have! If anybody is wondering wich trailer to get this is it!
