I LOVE this idea. But it's going to take a really long time for it to catch on, and I'll be out of school by then :P Its a wonderful idea, but schools need to get the up-front cash first. So it's going to take a good few years to start up, but when it does, it will be great. Future generations....you won't even know how lucky you are.

My school district, aside from being a complete failure in most aspects, is something crazy like $8 million in debt......but all the teachers still got iPad 2's, so maybe there's hope.....

I'd pick the iPad for me. But learning wise I don't think I would do good with and iPad. I would be playing angry bird, doodle jump, tiny tower, etc. It would be pretty distracting and we don't really use textbooks all that much anyway.

I wuld rather have an ipad becuase it is more convenient. Reading from an actual book is easier. Plus ipads have a crap ton of other distractions that i try to removve myself from. Its a hard choice.

iPad of course, if you think about how the textbooks will cost so much less, the iPad might be a more expensive initial purchase but in the long run it will be probably less expensive and you will have up-to-date books. Just my thoughts.

You may get less profanity, and doodles in the books, but what about the iPad. There's always going to be that one kid that cracks the screen, or uses his key to write his name on it, etc. It really would be cool to have them in schools, but we're too irresponsible. Our school's have Macbook Pro's, and the keys get stolen off, the camera get scratches, people press on the screen too hard. I wish we could be more responsible.
