only one i have heard as my younger sister had it E B Band apache dropout i was more into Hank Marvin nevertheless a good sound of the sixties i also detect the Frank Zappa trait. fredfuryman
i remember trapesing around several record shops trying to buy this, they just looked at me like i was bonkers!so unfortunately its not in my collection, thanks to You Tube otherwise i would not have heard it again.same story with the rare 45, Point Me At The Sky by Pink Floyd, tho i did get that one eventually!|
Is that the Harvest Logo I see spinning there? Memories, Memories.
Saw them in Watford Town Hall c. 1970 supporting John Hiseman's Colosseum (with the amazing Dick Hexstall-Smith) compered by a Mr John Peel. Still have the programme, the LP and the ear damage to show for it. Were stunning. Certainly knew how to rock the audience. Colosseum then played the "Valentine Suite"
A 5 star song: Apache Drop Out (2001 Digital Remaster) - Edgar Broughton Band [Warwick, England] - 1970 - "One of their career high points was 'Apache Dropout,' a cover of Captain Beefheart's 'Dropout Boogie'... There is some guitar work straight out of the early 1960's and his vocals sound very much like Frank Zappa at times." - Out Demons Out - The Best Of [Import Holland] (EMI Harvest)-2001.
get up off your sick consumer arses, look around. No, it's too late, you're all a bunch of sad fuks, all up your own arses. IRAQ, AFGHANISTAN? DRUG WAR? police state etc? No. It's how big a car I have. Who is having sex with someone they're not supposed, is my kitchen big enough? as usual
WTF was the B side? 39 years of aceed etc, can't remember, memory fading... but, hey! I remember! these guys believed in something, like, if we didn't do something momentous at the time then it would all just turn out like it has! ha-ha-ha, too late fukers! or is it?
supreme.

Great sound quality here.
It was a sensation when I first heard this on radio in '69.
Apache & Beefheart's Dropout Boogie are both equaly, great pieces of music.
What a great idea, to blend these two tunes together, because by '69 The Shadows were considered rather bland.
It must've been the idea, to blend these two extremes together.
Edgar ,like many other young guitar players in those days, grew up playing old Shadows tunes.

Ah, at last, this is the biz - acid/revolution with humour! the Shadows could be so dramatic!
