  • I cant recall a single episode of Quiller, but I was so obsessed with this tune I wore the 7'' vinyl out

  • I gave up looking for this a while back, and lo and behold someone has finally uploaded it!....thank you so much.this was the first single I bought.

  • Record's spinning backwards.

  • @0x51d Ah, I never noticed that! Still awesome, even in reverse,

  • I wish the BBC would repeat the show on BBC 3 or 4, or at least a DVD release

  • My Dad's got this record, I used to love playin it as a kid. Storming tune!

  • Love the bass on the intro!

  • Oh, so good to hear this again - can you upload the B-side?

  • I bought this single when I was 16 and still have it in my collection. It was and still is a catchy theme with a great brass hook.

  • Sounds a bit like the library music from The Sweeney.

  • Clavinet-tastic

  • Bought this when it came out!!!

  • My friend had this. On the B side is (I think) a track called 'The General Direction'. Any chance you could put it up?

  • I used to rush home from Scouts on a Friday night to see this. Had the single, the B-side was used in something Rod Hull/Emu related a few years later, IIRC.

Worth a DVD release, it was a good show.

  • ohhhhhh nice

    im an avalanches fan

came here to check the original sample of one of their songs..

    me like!

  • I also purchased this single and still have it in my collection. I remember thinking it was really cool - now, thanks to YouTube it seems I wasn't the only one! As a 13-yr old I remember liking the programme itself, though online reviews seem to be rather negative and I doubt it's available anywhere now. I'm still a fan of the Quiller books, by Adam Hall.

  • I still have this single. Bought with my paper round money when I was 13. The B side is still preety cool and is still used by the BBC on various links. 34 years on it still sounds good.. Thanks for posting

  • S'Express used this drum intro in "Funky Killer ".

  • Keep in mind that this was sampled by the Avalanches in 'Close to you'.

  • Yes, I had the single - the B side was pretty cool too! I remember Denton and Cook being on Nationwide or something in a film report about their work. The original theme had a big classical fanfare before this track started. Great stuff.

  • this is quite simply superb

  • I remember buying this single as an eleven year old (or was I 12?) and loving it. I had forgotten how brilliant it is!

  • What an absolute gem this is - fantastic funk rythym, horns, keyboard, bass & lead guitar. It all combines to make one great TV theme tune. Thanks for posting!
