I used to rush home from Scouts on a Friday night to see this. Had the single, the B-side was used in something Rod Hull/Emu related a few years later, IIRC.

I also purchased this single and still have it in my collection. I remember thinking it was really cool - now, thanks to YouTube it seems I wasn't the only one! As a 13-yr old I remember liking the programme itself, though online reviews seem to be rather negative and I doubt it's available anywhere now. I'm still a fan of the Quiller books, by Adam Hall.
I still have this single. Bought with my paper round money when I was 13. The B side is still preety cool and is still used by the BBC on various links. 34 years on it still sounds good.. Thanks for posting
Yes, I had the single - the B side was pretty cool too! I remember Denton and Cook being on Nationwide or something in a film report about their work. The original theme had a big classical fanfare before this track started. Great stuff.
What an absolute gem this is - fantastic funk rythym, horns, keyboard, bass & lead guitar. It all combines to make one great TV theme tune. Thanks for posting!

I wish the BBC would repeat the show on BBC 3 or 4, or at least a DVD release

I bought this single when I was 16 and still have it in my collection. It was and still is a catchy theme with a great brass hook.

Sounds a bit like the library music from The Sweeney.

My friend had this. On the B side is (I think) a track called 'The General Direction'. Any chance you could put it up?

I remember buying this single as an eleven year old (or was I 12?) and loving it. I had forgotten how brilliant it is!
