1st time I heard this song was abt 2 years ago @ the end of the Happy Endings. I fell in love with it. I searched it on the net & I had no idea how popular this song is. I found so many versions of it from the originator, Jorge Ben Jor to Al Jarreau. I love almost every version. Astrud Gilberto's sings it in Japanese. Black Eyed Peas should've left it alone. Jorge Ben's version is the best. I love how he scats @ the end and his falsetto is so smooth. Dude has soul.

The expression "mas que nada" could be translated to anything that express the act of leaving your problems behind and enjoying the good moments. The lyrics are very simple, it's just an exaltation of the samba music. And that's the beauty of Jorge's songs, they are very simple, but yet very catchy and well performed. That's why he's one of the gratest brazilian singers and loved not just here in Brazil, but all over the world.
